To everyone who joined us for DREGS’ launch weekend: thank you.
Watching you venture into the darkness, recover questionable salvage, and find increasingly creative ways to get your entire crew killed has been incredible. We’ve been following your streams, reading your reviews, and working through the feedback you’ve shared with us. Your enthusiasm has meant a great deal to our small team.
We also want to thank every creator who streamed, recorded, or shared DREGS with their community. You took a chance on a brand-new game from an independent studio, and your coverage helped introduce the game to players around the world. We’re enormously grateful for that support and have prepared a highlight reel to celebrate you:
We’re committed to making DREGS better alongside our community. You can expect regular updates as we fix issues, improve the experience, and build on what’s working. We’ll also continue listening closely to your feedback as we determine where the game goes next.
Our first update will be Thursday, July 30 and will come with some substantial changes to address some problems we’ve seen in streams and videos, some bug fixes based on your reports and some new content. In addition to a bunch of other changes we’ll be changing how danger levels work, and introducing a new map.
Onboarding & Difficulty
DANGER 4 is tuned to give us devs a hard time but many crews are setting it to 4 right after the first mission only to crash and burn. We’re going to change how you adjust danger levels so there is progression, you’ll have to earn your way up to 4 which will enable you to develop the necessary skills and map knowledge along the way to succeed.
New Map
The metroidvania map design is working well, most of you have yet to visit all the rooms or discover all the secrets the maps hold. We’ll do a deeper dive on this design in the future post. For now we’ll share that we’ll be adding a new map in the next update that is intended for veteran crews.
Thank you for playing, for sharing your feedback, and for rallying around our strange little corner of deep space. We’re excited to keep building DREGS with you.
