Build 0.741: Pets, Smarter Potions, and New Character Animations
Build 0.741 introduces three major improvements to Loomsong Chronicle Idle: collectible pet companions, a complete automatic-potion overhaul, and new work animations for every playable character identity.

These systems were designed to make expeditions easier to read, reduce unnecessary menu management, and give the party more life while it works its way across the hidden worlds.
Pet Companions Have Arrived
The main character can now equip two pets through the new Pets tab in Party Management.

Four pets are currently obtainable:

Station Dog — Normal
Station Cat — Normal
Light-Leather Shepherd — Common
Light-Leather Spotted Cat — Common

Every pet receives an individual, permanently saved name. Equipped pets follow the party during expeditions, wander naturally when nothing needs their attention, and retrieve ground loot allowed by your Loot Filter.

Pets are noncombat companions. They cannot be attacked, do not draw enemy attention, do not block movement, and never interfere with party navigation or harvesting.

Pets gain experience whenever they collect loot. Their levels have no cap, and their pickup speed improves as they grow. At level 100, collecting an item becomes immediate once the pet reaches it.

Normal pets focus entirely on loot collection. Common pets also provide a growing party bonus:

The Light-Leather Shepherd increases maximum Health.
The Light-Leather Spotted Cat increases maximum Mana.

Pets can be found as rare drops from ordinary enemies, treasure chests, expedition bosses, Guardians, and Pinnacles.

There is also milestone protection for unlucky adventurers:

At level 10, a character who has never acquired a pet receives a Normal pet through Mail.
At level 25, a character receives a second pet through Mail if they have not acquired two pets.
Existing characters already beyond these levels receive any missed milestone pets after loading.

Pets support the same click and drag controls as other equipment. They can be equipped, unequipped, moved into exact inventory slots, and sold at the Outfitter after being unequipped. Moving a pet never resets its name, level, experience, rarity, or progression.

Equipped pets display their names above their expedition sprites. The High Anchorage Bestiary also has a new Pets tab containing portraits, mechanics, personalities, and lore for all four companions.
The Potion Belt Is Now Smart
Potion slots no longer require players to configure a threshold and remember to press Apply. Ordinary belt potions now evaluate their actual effects and activate automatically when they are useful.

The new behavior includes:

Health Potions activate when Health falls to 40% or lower.
Mana Potions activate when Mana falls to 40% or lower.
Stamina Potions activate when Stamina falls to 40% or lower.
Regeneration potions avoid being wasted while their matching regeneration effect is already active.
Cleansing potions activate when the character has a harmful status they can remove.
Defensive potions activate during combat when their protection is not already active.
Damage, accuracy, and critical bonuses activate when combat begins and the effect is useful for the character’s fighting style.
Multi-effect potions can activate when any important part of the potion is needed.

The system uses a stable priority so urgent cleansing and resource recovery take precedence over ordinary combat buffs.

Revive Kits and lockpicks remain separate from automatic potion behavior. Revive Kits are still reserved for manual revival, while lockpicks remain dedicated to treasure chests.

Existing belt contents migrate normally. Potion quantities, quality, craftsmanship, and special item behavior are preserved.

New Work Animations for Every Playable Character

All sixteen playable race-and-sex identities now have dedicated directional animations for expedition work.

Characters no longer freeze on a single frame while chopping or mining. Their actions now visibly continue for the complete duration of the activity.

These animations are synchronized with the real activity state, but they remain visual. They do not change gathering speed, revival time, loot outcomes, or simulation behavior.

Complete Korr Male Animation Rebuild

Korr Male also received a complete visual rebuild extending far beyond the new work animations.

The rebuilt set gives Korr Male a more consistent identity across exploration, combat, work, rest, injury, and recovery. His existing portrait remains unchanged.

Additional Improvements

Build 0.741 also includes several supporting fixes:

Pet names, levels, and experience now survive every equipment and save transition.
Fixed Pet slots occasionally appearing occupied without responding to clicks or drag actions.
Fixed replacement pets occasionally retaining the previous pet’s name or sprite.
Fixed belt potions appearing to disappear after being unequipped.
Improved immediate inventory updates after equipment and storage changes.
Fixed a save-loading failure caused by exceptionally strong crafted enchantments.

Pets will continue expanding in future updates, but the current four companions, their progression, loot collection, equipment behavior, artwork, animations, Bestiary entries, and save support are fully functional in Build 0.741.
