Loomsong Chronicle Idle — Build 0.741 Patch Notes
Build 0.741 introduces the first companion pets, smarter potion use, improved expedition-loss recovery, clearer inventory information, new work animations for every playable character, and several important save and equipment fixes.
Pet Companions
- Added the new Pet system for the main character.
- The main character now has two Pet slots in Party Management.
- Added four obtainable pets:
- Station Dog — Normal
- Station Cat — Normal
- Light-Leather Shepherd — Common
- Light-Leather Spotted Cat — Common
- Every pet receives a permanent randomly generated name.
- Equipped pets follow the main character during expeditions.
- Pets automatically collect ground loot allowed by your Loot Filter.
- Pets do not fight, block movement, draw enemy attention, harvest resources, or interfere with party navigation.
- Pets gain experience whenever they collect loot.
- Pet levels have no cap.
- Pickup speed improves as a pet levels and becomes immediate at level 100 after the pet reaches the item.
- Normal pets provide loot collection without an additional party-stat bonus.
- The Common Light-Leather Shepherd grants increasing maximum Health to the party.
- The Common Light-Leather Spotted Cat grants increasing maximum Mana to the party.
- Pet bonuses continue growing as pets level.
- Pets can drop from ordinary enemies, chests, expedition bosses, Guardians, and Pinnacles.
- Characters who have never found a pet receive milestone protection:
- A Normal pet is delivered through Mail at level 10 if needed.
- A second pet is delivered at level 25 if needed.
- Existing characters already beyond those levels receive any missed milestone pets after loading.
- Selling a milestone pet does not grant another free replacement.
- Pets cannot be destroyed, enchanted, socketed, woven, or treated as ordinary equipment.
- Pets can be sold at the Outfitter after being unequipped.
- Equipped pets now display their individual names above their expedition sprites.
- Pets can be equipped and unequipped by clicking.
- Pets support drag-and-drop between Shared Inventory and either Pet slot.
- Dragging an equipped pet to a specific empty inventory slot places it in that exact slot.
- Unequipping or moving a pet preserves its name, level, experience, rarity, and identity.
- Fixed retained Pet slots sometimes appearing occupied without responding to clicks or drags.
- Fixed replacing a pet occasionally leaving the previous pet’s sprite or name visible.
Pet Bestiary
- Added a dedicated Pets tab to the High Anchorage Bestiary.
- The tab contains complete entries for all four obtainable pets.
- Pet entries show their rarity, loot-collection role, progression bonus, portrait, personality, and lore.
- Normal and Common pet headings use improved colors for readability.
Smart Potion Belt
- Removed the need to configure and apply individual automatic-use thresholds for ordinary potions.
- Belt potions now evaluate their actual effects and use themselves when appropriate.
- Health-restoring potions activate at or below 40% Health.
- Mana-restoring potions activate at or below 40% Mana.
- Stamina-restoring potions activate at or below 40% Stamina.
- Regeneration potions avoid wasting doses while the matching regeneration effect is already active.
- Cleansing potions activate when the character has a harmful status they can remove.
- Defensive potions activate during combat when their matching protection is absent.
- Damage, accuracy, and critical bonuses activate during combat when useful to the character’s current fighting style.
- Multi-effect potions can activate when any important part of the potion is useful.
- Smart potion decisions use a stable priority and consume no more than one dose per character during each evaluation.
- Revive Kits remain reserved for manual revival.
- Lockpicks remain reserved for treasure chests.
- Existing belt contents migrate without losing quantities, quality, or craftsmanship.
Inventory, Stash, Outfitter, and Workshop
- Added direct transfers between Shared Inventory and Town Stash while using the Outfitter.
- Added direct transfers between Shared Inventory and Town Stash while using the Workshop.
- Clicking an item can move it into the other visible storage.
- Dragging supports exact destination slots.
- Shift-drag continues to support stack splitting.
- Incompatible or occupied destination slots refuse the transfer without moving or losing the item.
- Full destinations refuse atomically without altering either storage.
- Town Stash remains available only in High Anchorage.
- Fixed equipped items sometimes remaining visibly present in Shared Inventory after being moved.
- Fixed stale inventory controls reporting that an item no longer existed after it had already been equipped.
- Successful equipment and storage changes now update the affected interface immediately.
- Fixed unequipped belt potions appearing to disappear.
- Belt items now return to an authoritative Shared Inventory slot or compatible stack.
- Exact item identity, quantity, quality, craftsmanship, and variant are preserved during inventory and belt movements.
Item Tooltips
- Compact item tooltips now display item weight.
- Weight appears below the item type or equipment location and before gameplay statistics.
- Stackable items show the total weight of the complete stack.
- Weightless items omit the weight row.
- Singular weights use lb; other values use lbs.
- Weight information now applies consistently to equipment, books, runes, pets, stackable items, and item previews.
Mail Improvements
- The High Anchorage Stash button now displays a small envelope whenever Mail contains unclaimed rewards.
- Opening Mail does not clear the notification.
- Partially claiming Mail does not clear the notification.
- The envelope disappears immediately after the final waiting reward is claimed.
- The notification uses the real Mail contents and cannot become a separate stale unread state.
Expedition Selection
- Added the following warning to the ordinary Expedition description:
Death is permanent for recruits. Be wary.
- Enemy-level selections now remain in place while comparing different expeditions.
- Moving between the Portal page and other High Anchorage services no longer silently resets the selected minimum and maximum levels.
- Selected values are automatically kept inside the legal range for the chosen expedition.
- A different campaign receives its own appropriate default selection.
Expedition HUD
- The expedition modifier display now shows the selected enemy level above Party size.
- Expeditions using one level display Enemy level: 50.
- Expeditions using a range display values such as Enemy levels: 45–55.
- The display reads the level range actually used to generate the expedition.
Party-Wipe Guidance
- Added a dedicated explanation after an ordinary expedition party wipe.
- The message identifies the lost expedition and explains how many recruits were permanently lost.
- It clarifies that the main character survives but suffers the existing experience penalty.
- It recommends recruiting replacements, stocking Health Potions, and learning and equipping useful abilities before returning.
- The message can be dismissed with the button, Enter, or Numpad Enter.
- Normal returns to High Anchorage do not show the wipe message.
- Pinnacle defeats retain their separate protected behavior.
Lost-Recruit Equipment Recovery
- Every carried item or stack belonging to a recruit who dies during an ordinary expedition wipe now has an independent 25% chance to be recovered.
- Recovered belongings are delivered to the Mail category of Town Stash.
- Eligible belongings include:
- Equipped weapons and armor
- Belt equipment
- Rune Board items
- Potion stacks
- Lockpicks
- Food and drink
- Food and drink reserves
- The main character’s belongings are excluded because the main character survives.
- Reserve recruits are excluded because they did not die in the expedition.
- Pinnacle defeats do not use ordinary permanent-death recovery.
- The wipe message reports whether belongings were recovered and directs the player to Mail.
- Recovery is deterministic and does not alter future loot drops.
Relic Drop Correction
- Fixed several Relics incorrectly being eligible to drop at level 1.
- All nine Relic item bases now begin generating at item level 50.
- The level-30 Relic equipment-slot unlock remains unchanged.
- Existing Relics created below the corrected minimum are repaired rather than deleted.
- Repaired Relics preserve their identity, rarity, affixes, roll quality, craftsmanship, and item UID.
- Their level, tier, and inherent values are rebuilt at the correct legal minimum.
- Audited millions of production loot rolls across all eight expeditions to verify that:
- Relics no longer appear below level 50.
- Legal equipment remains broadly represented.
- Magic equipment remains obtainable.
- Relics remain obtainable at their intended levels.
Playable Character Work Animations
- Added dedicated new work animations for all sixteen playable race-and-sex identities.
- Chopping now uses a continuous six-frame directional animation.
- Mining now uses a continuous six-frame directional animation.
- Gathering, chest opening, lockpicking, and loot interaction now use the complete four-frame interaction sequence.
- Skinning now enters a held work pose for the real activity duration and completes the stand-up animation afterward.
- Manual revival now enters a held revival pose for the real channel duration and completes the recovery animation afterward.
- Interrupted or cancelled interactions release from their held pose instead of leaving the character frozen.
- East-facing work animations correctly mirror their West-facing art.
- Animation timing remains visual and does not change gathering speed, revival time, loot authority, or simulation results.
Korr Male Animation Overhaul
- Replaced the complete Korr Male runtime animation set with the approved rebuilt identity.
- Updated:
- Idle
- Walking
- Sitting down
- Resting
- Standing up
- Melee attacks
- Spellcasting
- Ranged attacks
- Taking damage
- Downed state
- Death
- Getting up
- Chopping
- Mining
- Interaction
- The existing Korr Male portrait remains unchanged.
Enchantment Save Repair
- Fixed a serious issue where a highly successful crafted enchantment could prevent a campaign from loading.
- Workshop craftsmanship can legally raise an enchantment above the ordinary natural maximum for its tier.
- The game now preserves the craftsmanship contribution that makes the higher value valid.
- Existing compatible saves with affected enchantments are repaired automatically when loaded.
- Repairs preserve:
- Item UID
- Base item
- Enchantment identity
- Enchantment tier
- Rolled enchantment value
- Item rarity
- Other item progression
- Repaired campaigns continue normally and are saved in the corrected format.
- Fixed an additional older-save migration edge case involving the new Pet Loot Filter category.
Stability and Compatibility
- Existing compatible Steam Cloud campaigns remain supported.
- Pet milestone migration was tested against real lower-level and higher-level campaigns.
- High-enchantment migration was tested through both old-format and current-format save cycles.
- Equipment, Workshop, Mail, Pets, inventory, expedition wipes, and active expeditions were tested through save and reload.
