You are Charon. The dead don't care that you weren't ready.
The TOLL demo is live on Steam, completely free, no time limit. It covers the first two rivers of the underworld exactly as they play in the full game — nothing simplified, nothing held back.
What's in the demo:
- The Styx and the Acheron, playable for as long as you want to row.
- The full upgrade tree for both rivers — oars, hull, crew, the works.
- A taste of what the dead have to say: dozens of the 147 lines the drowned mutter on the way across.
- The river spirits who ask you about the life you had, and remember how you answered.
The demo stops at the shore of the Lethe on purpose. TOLL is a short incremental that actually ends: three more rivers, the price of your own freedom, and a real final scene are waiting in the full game, and we're not going to spoil how it finishes.
