Hey everyone! 👋
Update 1.0.6 is here! This update brings a reworked skill progression system, smoother product interactions, and fixes for skill hotkeys and item pickups. We also have an update on our upcoming Electronics Store map!
We asked our Discord community whether they’d prefer smoother skill point progression, and 86% voted in favour! So we got straight to work on this rework.
You now earn XP whenever you place a product on the correct shelf, instead of waiting to complete three shelves to earn a skill point.
75% of each shelf’s XP is distributed across its products as you place them.
The remaining 25% is awarded when you complete the shelf.
Total available XP is unchanged: three fully stocked shelves still provide one level’s worth of XP and one skill point. You simply receive some of that progress earlier!
Many of you mentioned that progression felt slow on maps like Supermarket, where products are scattered, and you often place whatever you find rather than focus on finishing individual shelves. This change rewards that gradual progress while keeping shelf completion valuable.
Existing saves are supported! When you load your save, XP from products already placed on unfinished shelves will be credited automatically, along with any skill points earned from that progress.
Removed the speed restriction that disabled interaction with moving products. This could leave some products unresponsive on escalators or after another player threw them.
You can now throw products to each other and catch them in mid-air!
Removed additional interaction checks in co-op that could delay or block picking up products.
Fixed energy drinks sometimes being impossible to pick up from the floor.
Fixed inconsistent skill ordering in the skill bar and issues with custom skill hotkey assignments.
Skills in the skill bar now follow the same fixed order as the active skills in the Tab menu, so your assigned hotkeys consistently activate the corresponding skills.
As you know, we’ve also been working on our next map, Electronics Store. It isn’t quite ready yet, and we wanted to give you an update on where things stand.
In terms of the work going into it, this almost feels like building a whole new little game! As shared in our previous announcement, we’re aiming for over 4,000 objects to tidy up, with no products, shelves, or other assets reused from the existing maps. We currently expect the update to be around 1–2 GB to download.
Choosing the products and getting all those details right takes time. Sometimes I find myself spending hours just working on the colours of a kettle! Those little details add up, but we want this store to feel fresh and full of variety.
Our current plan is to finish playtesting this weekend and release the Electronics Store early next week. We’re putting the finishing touches on it and looking forward to getting it into your hands!
We’ve been thinking about a feature for after our fourth map is released: the ability to reshuffle products on existing maps, with difficulty options that control how widely they’re scattered.
For example, an easier shuffle could keep products of the same type within a smaller area, while a harder shuffle could spread them across the store. How close matching products stay together, and how likely they are to end up further away, could make a big difference to the challenge.
This could make some of the trickier achievements more approachable and give you fresh arrangements to play again and again while we work towards the Level Editor. It’s still an idea we’re exploring, and we’d love to hear what you think!
Would you enjoy this feature? How would you like reshuffling and difficulty options to work? Share your thoughts and creative ideas in the Steam discussions or in the comments below!
We initially planned to release Update 1.0.6 yesterday, but a few last-minute fixes pushed it back a little. Sorry for the delay in getting this announcement out, too.
If you’re enjoying the game, please consider leaving a Steam review. It’s one of the best ways to support us!
Thank you for your patience and continued support. We’re working at full speed; stay tuned, and happy tidying! 💛
