Today, as I begin this development diary, I’d like to introduce what kind of game 1daYs is.1daYs is a story-driven adventure game set in a small Korean neighborhood and school.Minsu, an ordinary high school student, goes through a day that seems no different from any other, yet somehow feels a little different. As he visits different places and talks to people, he ends up experiencing an unwanted but special day. What matters in this game is not only grand adventures or extraordinary incidents.A passing comment in the hallway, small misunderstandings between friends, and minor requests from people nearby may seem ordinary at first, but they come together to move the story forward.
The gameplay of 1daYs follows the flow of a single day.It is the kind of day where you wake up in the morning, go to school, attend class, and return home after class ends.Players will move between the neighborhood, the school, and the areas around the school while meeting various characters.Who to talk to, which clues to remember, and what choices to make are all up to the player.A day may be short, but more emotions and events are hidden within it than you might expect.
Various characters appear in 1daYs, including classmates, student council members, club members, and people from the neighborhood. They may simply be people you pass by, but each of them has a story of their own.Perhaps their stories may not be directly connected to the larger incident.Even so, I hope watching them and gradually getting to know them can become one of the small pleasures of this game.
School, classrooms, the front of a shop...The setting of 1daYs is based on ordinary yet familiar places in Korea. For some, these scenes may feel familiar. For others, they may feel unfamiliar. But I believe new things happening in places like these can make that day feel a little more special.
In future development diaries, I plan to gradually introduce the setting, characters, systems, and production process of 1daYs.In the next post, I’d like to talk about one of the game’s main settings: the neighborhood. It is the first place players will encounter, and one of the places you can also see in the demo. Please keep an eye on the development diaries to come.
Thank you.
