Commanders,

FTS: Frontline Tank Survivor has been rebuilt in Unity!

With v0.1, the lobby, tank combat, and battle progression come together on a new Unity foundation.

What’s in the rebuild

  • A rebuilt battle flow. Prepare in the lobby, deploy into wave battles, and repair or upgrade your tank in the shop between waves.
  • Tank combat and loadouts. Fight with AP / HE ammunition and machine guns, and build your loadout with options such as M4 FLAMETHROWER, M2 BROWNING, and CALLIOPE.
  • Battle results and saved progress. Review your battle statistics, final loadout, and earned RP, then return to the lobby. Continue a saved run from its checkpoint.
  • 7 languages. Play with interface text in English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, or Russian.

About the rebuild

First, we want to apologize for the long period without updates.

Technical problems with the previous version eventually reached a point where continuing development on the old engine was no longer practical. Instead of continuing to patch around those problems, FTS was rebuilt on Unity from the ground up.

That work took time, but the new foundation is now in place. The game is significantly more stable, and we can finally focus on developing FTS itself again rather than fighting against its technical foundation.

During the rebuild, we also reconsidered the scope of the game.

Some systems from the previous version, including the crew system, were originally added while we were struggling to find the right scope and structure for FTS. For now, those systems have been removed so the game can focus on what it does best: simple, fast, direct tank combat.

A number of enemies from the previous version are also currently absent. They have not necessarily been abandoned. Many of them will be redesigned, rebuilt, and gradually reintroduced in future updates in forms that better fit the new version of FTS.

This is the new starting point

At the moment, only STAGE 1 is available, and there are currently no additional stage or tank unlocks.

This update is not the end of the rebuild. It is the foundation that future updates will build on.

Now that the Unity foundation is complete, development can return to regular content updates. The current goal is to release updates approximately every one to two weeks, bringing back redesigned content while also introducing new enemies, skills, tanks, stages, balance changes, and improvements.

We do not intend to repeat the long update gap that happened during the engine transition.

From here, FTS moves forward again.

Thank you for being part of FTS. Your feedback helps shape the next steps—please share your impressions and bug reports in Steam Discussions.
