Weekly Update: Offline Adventures, New Ultimates & the Dark Otso Overhaul

This is a big one.

Offline Single-Player is Here

Jump into Mage Escape 2000 completely offline — no server required.

  • Three separate save slots
  • Full pause support
  • Save & Return to Menu
  • Offline inventory, quests, stash, and progression

Offline characters remain completely separate from multiplayer accounts.

Three New Ultimate Spells

Three devastating new ultimates have entered the arena:

  • Plasma Storm — raining plasma, explosions, and chain lightning.
  • Black Sun Protocol — drag enemies inward before crushing them in a final collapse.
  • Prism Cataclysm — rotating beams sweep the battlefield before erupting.

Each comes in Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants.

Dark Otso Has Been Rebuilt

Dark Otso is now a much more dangerous — and readable — boss fight.

His encounter now features new attacks, improved telegraphs, three distinct combat phases, combo attacks, recovery openings, smarter summons, better crowd-control behavior, and a completely rebuilt entrance cinematic.

And the rewards are much better.

Defeat him to earn a guaranteed treasure box, Legendary scroll, and Legendary Ultimate.

A Better Way to Build Your Mage

Ronald's shop has been completely redesigned.

  • Browse all 134 playable scroll variants
  • Search and filter your spell collection
  • Compare rarities
  • Try eight preset builds
  • Create and save up to 24 custom six-spell loadouts

Buying a loadout can now equip the entire build instantly.

Controller & Steam Deck Improvements

Controller support now extends across nearly the entire game, including shops, inventory, quests, stash, skill trees, party menus, post-raid screens, and more.

Aiming, remapping, Steam Input, text chat, reconnects, and Steam Deck controls have all received major improvements.

Tutorial & Presentation Overhaul

The tutorial has been rebuilt with interactive lessons, input-aware instructions, and a cleaner presentation.

We've also redesigned mage selection, refreshed loading screens, and replaced the old post-raid report with an animated scorecard showing your XP, gold, honors, and raid performance.

Plus a Huge Round of Fixes

This update also improves:

  • Extraction reliability
  • Quest and companion progression
  • Combat and status effects
  • Voice chat
  • Remote player, monster, and projectile movement
  • Map and VFX performance
  • Server-side validation and connection handling

Thanks for playing — and good luck against the new Dark Otso.

Multiplayer Note: Clients and dedicated servers must be running matching updated builds.
