VERSION 0.598

Return to Planet Zoveka Playtest · published 2 Aug 2026, 10:32 UTC

All eventsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

- A one-time Comet Storm can now strike late-game dust shortages, opening with a localized News Flash and family warning before an opening Plasma Comet, synchronized ambient and Ancient Comet waves, and a final two-comet plasma barrage sweep across Zoveka.
- Sound effects now receive a subtle randomized pitch variation each time they play, making repeated cues feel less mechanical while preserving authored pitch tuning.
- Successfully applying an upgrade now casts a strong neon-pink and purple glitch afterimage that drifts left from the upgraded object.
- The family now shares a one-time conversation on the first Control Room visit about Uncle Orin's ship, surviving the dangers of space, and helping everyone still waiting on Zoveka.
- All seven maintained in-game language layers now have complete first-pass coverage across 30 locales, including recent Personal Projects, device tooltips, accessibility settings, controller status messages, and story quick tips; stale English and unused Gameplay UI entries were also synchronized or removed.
- If the ship force field is still unused after the opening quick tips, Luma now follows up with a localized reminder explaining how to select and activate it.
- Small, frequently repeated raw-dust and credit gains now keep their HUD +value animation silent, while larger reward celebrations retain their sound.
- Space Pirate transfer beams now loop a dedicated configurable hum while taking dust from the player ship and stop as soon as loading or theft ends.
- The Playable Demo Spaceport Trader bonus dialogue now waits until roughly 340 seconds of gameplay, giving the initial trader welcome more breathing room.
- The rotating Invantage splash logo now has complete side and back geometry, removing small gaps that could appear as it turns.
- Ancient Comets now pass cleanly behind complete title-screen warehouses instead of interleaving with their frames.
- Projected ranges shown while hovering compatible upgrades now use a fine dotted outline that is clearly distinct from the current operational range.
- Dust magnetized by the Magnetic Suction Bomb now ignores Attractor Beacon pull, allowing even strongly held particles to escape toward the ship.
- The SuperDust Processing Plant tractor beam now latches onto eligible dust across its full displayed range whenever the particle fits in the remaining processor queue.
- The ship's Tractor Beam now grabs a dust particle only when its full raw-dust value fits inside one individual processor queue, instead of combining free space across both processors.
- Hovering a production-cube row in the SuperDust Plant build menu now highlights every existing cube of that type while retaining its input dependency traces.
- Cargo pods and the ship's main storage now shift much more strongly toward blue as they fill, making full containers immediately visible.
- Applying a Cargo Pod upgrade now consumes exactly one unit per click and no longer triggers an accidental second click that takes manual control of the pod.
- Homeworld Surface Vista music now selects exclusively from its dedicated World Ambient tracks, falling back to ordinary ambient music only if that list is empty.
- The Personal Projects console now opens reliably from every Ship Control Room phase, including mirrored console layouts.
- Trading Outpost stock now hides completed or otherwise impossible purchases and reveals ordinary new items only when they become affordable, while retaining repeat purchases and the SuperDust Processing Plant teaser.
- Title-screen family portraits are now presentation-only, preventing accidental leaderboard openings while Main and Dust Rush leaderboards remain available from Start.
- The title screen now includes compact Steam Discussions and Add to Wishlist signs beneath the Quick Guide button, with localized hover labels and Steam-overlay links.
- New installations now start with Master Volume and Sound Effects set to 60%, while existing audio preferences remain unchanged.
