Dungeoneers, we've updated our demo for the Steam Next Fest!

New Features

  • Spoil food system: Food can get spoiled over time (one item food at a time, usually around 20 minutes). Food Baskets keep them fresh for at least 1 hour. All food, all raw and some cooking ingredients can get spoiled; herbs and some dry ingredients don't get spoiled with time.
  • Improvements in Combat: Camera shake when hit and when attacking, Skeleton hit anim improvements, interrupt ongoing attacks
  • Bat and Scorpion can now be harvest after they're dead; they don't drop food anymore. Bat Carcass and Scorpion Carcass added to Cooking Table recipes: Scorpion Tail is now a recipe for the cooking pot.
  • Food now burns in Rotisserie if left unattended for too long; fixed effects and SFX for when the food is ready and/or burning
  • Controller support

Important Changes

  • Users now can rejoin a lobby: the game now checks if the user already is in a lobby, before joining in or creating a new one. Additionally, the game now shows a proper error message when fails in finding lobbies, creating a new game, or joining a new game
  • Interactions with objects now prioritize the player's hand first when the object accepts multiple types of input
  • Realtime detection of current input device
  • Removed Low Quality setting options. Kept Medium and High
  • The new Post Processing effect made the main menu a little brighter
  • The Key Binding screen in the Settings now swaps between controller and keyboard binding in realtime, based on the current active input

Bug fixes

  • Removed the misleading "Show Keybindings" option, which could cause a loss of menu navigation
  • Fixed a typo in the Sleeping Bag's "Offline Players" menu
  • Deconstructing a nail now returns its crafting material
  • Players can no longer be pushed out of bounds by draining the water in the main hall
  • Look sensitivity now has proper minimum and maximum limits
  • The pause menu is no longer active in the background while in Settings
  • Fixed being unable to navigate to the right-hand Settings tab with a controller
  • Game settings are now saved correctly and no longer reset to default after relaunching
  • The Audio Input and Output settings now work in-game
  • Fixed several settings not applying their visual changes as expected
  • The Brightness (Gamma) setting now affects the game's visuals
  • Left Click can now be bound, and the Escape key can no longer be unbound (which previously locked you out of the settings menu)
  • Players whose account blocks multiplayer can no longer enter online sessions
  • Players can now rejoin a previously joined public session after restarting the game
  • Blocked users can no longer send messages or invitations to players who block them
  • Optimized light sources for better performance; distant wall-torch lights now switch off
  • Lowered the volume of the UI selection sound
  • Nails on walls can no longer be deconstructed through the crafting menu
  • Players can no longer get stuck inside the pipes in the Castle hub
  • Added missing characters to the Japanese, Polish, and Russian fonts
  • Added missing translations for the Warm debuff, the shield stamina warning, and the wishlist button.
  • Localized several error messages (friend invites, fetching friends, invalid game names, and multiplayer session errors)
  • The main menu now supports both 16:9 and 21:9 aspect ratios
  • Rotten Food can now be added to a campfire and used as fuel
  • Fixed the torch's position in the player's hand
  • Fixed a floating stairs mesh in the Prison
  • The backpack is no longer still equipped after the player dies
  • Fixed interaction feedback breaking when an enemy pushes the player off an item or build mid-interaction
  • Pressing the Escape key now cancels an item throw
  • Fixed the crafting hologram not disappearing when the player dies mid-craft
