Highlights
- The game now saves all progress automatically mid-level so that you can quit and continue at any time.
- The game now supports Steam Cloud, i.e. your save games are automatically synced to Steam.
Quests
- The first tile of each level can now be placed on any neighbor of your base instead of just the first quest's spot.
- Added a preview of how quests change during tile placement. The quest display now shows which of its slots a tile placement would fill, and warns when a placement would make the quest impossible to complete.
- Clicking a quest display flashes its neighbor cells for better onboarding of new players.
- Your base tile is now also displayed in neighboring quest displays for orientation.
- Rebuilt the quest tooltip. It now displays every tile needed to complete the quest as a tile icon, and marks fulfilled tiles.
UX & QoL
- Added mid-level saving: a level in progress is saved automatically and can be resumed later.
- The pause menu shows "Progress is saved." so that players know they can quit or return to the main menu at any time.
- Hovering the draw or discard pile now fans its tiles out above its button so that the player can see which tiles are left in the draw pile and which ones are in the discard pile.
- Changed the "Illuminate your tile deck" perk: since both piles now always show their tiles, the perk instead reveals their true order.
- Clarified the deck-building offers: each offer now states what clicking a card does, and each card shows its action as a chip on hover (Repel / Choose). This lets players understand what they are doing when choosing monsters, augments, or perks.
- Renamed the forward button on the victory and defeat screens from "Main Menu" to "Continue".
- Rewrote 38 descriptions to make their meaning easier to understand, using one consistent vocabulary. For example, the description of Thicket changed from "Monsters walking over this tile can be Critically Slowed" to "After a monster walks over this tile, the next Slow it receives Critically Slows it instead."
- Opening the pause menu or the reward screen now hides locked tooltips.
Note: To future-proof the save system, the save location has changed. Your current saves will be migrated automatically the first time you launch the game after updating. All progression is kept.
