🔥 LaBlue Horror – Major Update V0.1.7.11 Alpha
This is one of the biggest updates LaBlue Horror has received so far. Since the last major version, we have expanded several core systems, improved the overall game flow, reworked parts of the UI, added new gameplay mechanics and continued pushing the game further toward psychological horror.
📱 NEW SMARTPHONE SYSTEM
A fully integrated in-game smartphone has been added.
The phone now includes:
Messages / SMS
Message history
Unread notifications
Notification badges
Incoming calls
Missed calls
Call history
Saved phone data
Horror-related phone events
The smartphone is now part of the psychological horror system and will continue to play a much bigger role in future updates.
☎️ PHONE SIGNAL SYSTEM
The phone no longer has reception everywhere.
Certain areas of the map now act as signal zones. Inside these areas, special phone functions and events can become available.
Outside these zones, the phone may display:
No Signal
No Network
This system is designed to make phone interactions feel more believable and to create stronger horror moments.
🎤 LOCAL MICROPHONE REACTIONS
LaBlue Horror can now optionally react to your microphone.
Important:
No audio is uploaded
No audio is stored
No cloud processing
No Speech-to-Text
The system runs locally and currently reacts to voice activity and volume levels.
This creates the foundation for future horror events that can react directly to the player.
🧍♀️ NEW ANIME CHARACTERS & NPCs
Several new anime-style characters and NPCs have been added to the game.
The visual identity of LaBlue Horror is being expanded with a stronger mix of:
anime-inspired characters
sci-fi elements
psychological horror
surreal environments
These new NPCs will become more important in future levels and story interactions.
🧠 MORE PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR
Level 1 continues to move away from simple loud jumpscares and toward slower, more psychological horror.
Changes include:
Psycho footsteps reduced to roughly 50% of their previous volume
Classic loud AudioShock / jumpscare events disabled
More subtle horror atmosphere
Longer quiet moments
Better use of sound and uncertainty
The creepy “LALALA” event remains active as a rare horror event
The goal is to make the player question what they heard instead of constantly throwing loud sounds at them.
🚪 LEVEL 1 COMPLETION REWORKED
The Level 1 ending flow has been improved.
When Level 1 is completed:
Progress is saved
Level 1 is marked as completed
A loading transition begins
The player returns to the Level Hub
Level 2 becomes unlocked
The old victory-style ending has been replaced with a more connected progression system.
🌆 LEVEL 2 UNLOCK SYSTEM
Level 2 is now fully integrated into progression.
After completing Level 1:
Level 2 unlocks
The unlock is saved
The second Hub door becomes available
Level 2 can be loaded normally
Level 2 is now also properly included in Shipping builds.
🔄 NEW LOADING SYSTEM
A dedicated loading system has been added.
This improves transitions between maps and creates a better foundation for:
Loading screens
Atmospheric transitions
Future cutscenes
Better level-to-level flow
🛡️ LEVEL HUB IMPROVEMENTS
A known issue allowed players to leave the intended Hub area and fall into the outside environment.
A new Hub safety system now prevents this and returns the player to a valid position.
⚙️ PAUSE MENU & SETTINGS IMPROVEMENTS
The in-game pause menu now uses the same settings system as the main menu.
The settings system includes:
Resolution
Window Mode
Fullscreen
Borderless
V-Sync
FPS Limit
Resolution Scale
Gamma
Graphics Quality
Master Volume
Invert Y-Axis
The graphics preset system was also fixed so presets are applied correctly.
🖥️ RESPONSIVE UI IMPROVEMENTS
A large amount of work has been done to make the UI behave better across different resolutions and aspect ratios.
The UI has been technically tested for:
1920×1080
2560×1440
3440×1440
3840×2160
This includes improvements to:
Main Menu
Difficulty
Character Select
Settings
Pause Menu
Patch Notes
Smartphone
Loading Screens
🖱️ MOUSE & INPUT FIXES
Several input issues have been fixed.
This includes:
Smartphone mouse handling
TAB open / close behavior
ESC behavior
Gameplay input restoration
UI focus issues
Invert-Y behavior
The smartphone was also tested repeatedly for open / close stability.
🧑 PLAYER NAME INPUT FIXED
The player-name input system has been improved.
A bug where typed characters could disappear or be overwritten has been fixed.
The entered name can now be stored correctly and remains available for future psychological horror events.
📰 PATCH NOTES NOW AVAILABLE IN-GAME
A dedicated Patch Notes / What’s New section has been added to the menu.
Players can now see what changed directly inside the game.
🔢 CENTRAL VERSION SYSTEM
Version numbers are now handled centrally instead of being hardcoded across different UI elements.
Current version:
V0.1.7.11 Alpha
🧹 EASYGAMEUI SHIPPING CLEANUP
A large amount of unnecessary EasyGameUI demo content has been removed from the final Shipping build.
All 6 unused EasyGameUI demo maps were removed from the packaged game.
The final build now contains only the UI dependencies that are actually needed.
📦 SHIPPING & COOK IMPROVEMENTS
Several issues related to packaging and asset cooking have been fixed.
This includes:
UI cook reliability
Missing asset prevention
Level 2 packaging
Smartphone assets
