Hey everyone,
Another batch of changes this week, mostly focused on making the everyday parts of RIFTSTORM a little smoother:
We’ve added some frequently requested QoL features around salvaging, weapon management, and finding lobbies, alongside another balance pass and continued work on co-op stability and desync issues.
Added a Select All button when salvaging weapons at the Forge.
Weapons can now be locked, preventing them from being accidentally salvaged.
Expanded Lobby Filters with additional options:
Mission Selected — whether the party has already selected a mission.
Mission Status — whether the party is currently in a mission or at HQ.
Mission Type — including Urgent Missions, Killbox, and specific Keystones.
Enemy Type
Threat Level
Added separate connection status indicators for Steam and the Photon server.
This should also help us better identify where connection problems are occurring when you send us reports. Please be sure to tell us what the Status indicators are when reporting the problems to us.
Added a setting to hide Ally Projectile VFX to reduce on-screen clutter.
Creds can now drop from enemies and when weaving Rifts.
Increased the Combat Power of weapon drops from missions.
Reduced projectile damage from the Elite mutator.
Reduced explosion damage from the Terminal Volatility Anomaly.
Enemies affected by Terminal Volatility explode when killed, damaging nearby Weavers.
Reduced damage from the Kinetic Reflux Anomaly.
Enemies affected by Kinetic Reflux release a damaging pulse around themselves when hit.
Reduced the cooldown of the Vampiris evasion ability.
We'll need to a larger Vampiris balance pass later, but this should make some of the Vampiris encounters more manageable early on.
Killbox drop rates were increased, but so has the overall difficulty of the mission (we may patch this soon)
As a result the KIllbox CP will show as 9999 at the max possible level. Godspeed.
Increased drop quality in Threat 3 and Threat 4 missions so they should be more comparable to Armory output
Fixed inconsistent Enemy Disabler durability when interacting with it. It now consistently requires 15 hits.
Fixed additional cases where players could become stuck behind Purple Challenge Walls.
Added a failsafe that automatically drops the Challenge Wall if it remains active for too long. So if you do find yourself stuck because of the Purple Challenge Walls, just be patient and the walls will drop.
Fixed an issue that could cause the game to stop responding when joining a party.
Fixed an issue that could cause the game to stop responding when entering the Mission Results screen.
Fixed one identified cause of desynchronization at mission start.
Other causes of multiplayer desync may still occur, and we are continuing to investigate them.
We’ve added another batch of possible Weapon Scars.
The first set of Scars leaned pretty heavily toward being straight negatives and didn't quite make the system as interesting. With this batch, we’re starting to push the system toward stranger trade-offs as originally intended with effects that can still be inconvenient or outright cursed, but might also create interesting build opportunities if you’re willing to play around them.
Projectiles deal bonus damage but consume Shimmer with every shot.
Attacks always critically hit, but Critical Damage is greatly reduced.
Projectile Damage is randomized with every shot.
Magazine Size is greatly increased, but reloads take much longer.
Projectiles curve clockwise.
Projectiles curve counter-clockwise.
Using an Evasion Skill automatically switches to your other weapon.
Ammo slowly drains while the weapon is active.
Using an Evasion Skill empties the entire magazine, forcing a reload.
The weapon continues firing on its own until the magazine is empty.
Weaver movement controls are inverted while the weapon is active.
Good luck with that last one.
Joining a player running a different build of RIFTSTORM can cause multiplayer issues. This is most likely to happen when joining directly through a Steam Invite or Lobby Code.
Possible symptoms include:
Players being unable to see each other.
The party becoming stuck in the HQ mission countdown.
Please make sure everyone in your party is running the same version of the game. If you’re unsure whether your build has updated correctly, we recommend running Verify Integrity of Game Files through Steam.
We're hoping 0.6.2.2. will make the overall experience smoother for those of you having issues in-game.
Of course, we’re still working through the co-op and desync reports as they are harder to narrow. Some of these have more than one cause, so you’ll probably see us keep chipping away at them over the next few patches rather than declaring them magically solved.
Thanks for continuing to send us reports and feedback. It genuinely helps us narrow this stuff down.
