Highlights: This one is a polish pass. The opening stretch where Traveling Merchant Royce teaches you to trade has been tightened up—fewer words, one less click, so newcomers get back to playing sooner. The dropdowns in Game Settings are fixed too: when a setting sat near the bottom of the window, its list used to run off the edge with no way to scroll, forcing you to close it and shift the panel before you could pick anything. Now the list decides for itself whether to open upward or downward, and long lists scroll. And the Nautical Chart now tells you exactly where to go to assemble it.

Gameplay Improvements

  • Tutorial · Royce's stretch is shorter: The opening lesson with Traveling Merchant Royce has been trimmed and de-duplicated—his anvil spares and his habit of chopping wood when idle are now covered in one step instead of two, so that's one less click. Saves already partway through the tutorial are unaffected and carry on as normal.
  • Crafting · Reserve quantities start at 0: When you right-click a slot to reserve in the Crafting and Cooking panels, the amount now starts at 0. That way the ±10 buttons land on round numbers—10, 20, 30—instead of 11 or 21. Leave it at 0 and confirm, and nothing gets reserved.

Bug Fixes

  • Game Settings · Dropdowns no longer get cut off: For Language, Window Scale and Monitor, a list opened near the bottom of the window used to run past the edge with no way to scroll it—you had to close it, move the panel, and try again. The list now decides on its own whether to open upward or downward, long ones (Language, for instance) can be scrolled with the wheel, and it opens already scrolled to whatever you have selected. The brief flicker on opening is gone as well.
  • Nautical Chart · Clearer assembly directions: The manual and quest text explaining how to assemble the Nautical Chart now state plainly that it happens in the Codex tab of the Expedition Tavern, so you won't go hunting for it.

It isn't gone for good — Valve returns it once the game has earned $1,000 . So that line means this little island crossed the line. And it settles the July books — which is to say, the first half-month after launch…Game update28 Aug 2026Idyll Isle 1.0.7.4 Patch NotesHighlights : The animal economy has been rebalanced across the board—every livestock production interval is now 1.6× its previous value , Daily Feed intervals drop from 75 / 90 minutes to 30 / 40 minutes , and Manure drop rates are halved.
