Version 0.31: HanaKlo Now Includes an Experience System

In this update, we've added a new Experience System to HanaKlo, giving players a greater sense of long-term progression the more they play.

You can check your current experience on the results screen after clearing a game of HanaKlo.

Experience is calculated based on the following factors:

  • Clear Count

  • Best Time

  • Best Moves

  • Yaku Count

  • Total Play Time

Each game mode (Assist / Standard / Expert) applies different experience multipliers. Expert mode rewards significantly more experience in less time than Assist mode.

While viewing the results screen, press Y (or S on keyboard) to see a detailed breakdown of your Yaku Count.

If you ever find yourself thinking,

"I'm not earning much experience..."

try challenging yourself to complete Yaku in the Slots.

While HanaKlo may feel a little easier than traditional Klondike during normal play, completing Yaku in the Slots is much more challenging and depends heavily on both planning and luck. Successfully completing them can be incredibly satisfying.

It may take some time to get used to this mechanic, but the time you spend thinking is also rewarded as experience.

Take your time and enjoy the game at your own pace.

Just remember that the game ends if your Move Count exceeds 999, so keep an eye on your remaining moves.

You can also check your cumulative statistics across all game modes anytime via:

Configuration → HanaKlo Stats

We hope you'll enjoy building experience in your own unique way.

Unlike Best Time records, experience is not tracked on the leaderboard.

Our goal is for leaderboard records—especially your best completion time—to become something that naturally improves as a result of gaining experience, rather than being the primary objective itself.
