Hey backers,
We promised more audio goodies this week, and today we are doubling down with two brand-new music features. If you love 16-bit sound design or just want to see how the soundtrack comes together, grab your headphones.
Here is a quick look at what just dropped:
First up, Team Fat legend Joe McDermott has a standalone performance video jamming through "Veil of Fears," one of the tracks he made specifically for the game.
Joe’s process is wild. Instead of just clicking notes into a program, he actually composes his songs on physical instruments first before rebuilding it all note-by-note in DefleMask to get those true 16-bit chiptune sounds.
Watch the performance below:
Next, our resident audio wizard Karl O'Janpa takes us behind the scenes of the "Clown Powder Den" stage. Karl gives a great breakdown of how he wrangles the notorious Sega Genesis sound chip, turning strict hardware limitations into heavy-hitting, driving chiptune tracks. Stick around until the end of the video too, because he caps the whole thing off by completely jamming out.Â

We sent out a handful of physical press kits at the start of the campaign, and the hands-on impressions are starting to roll in. @slopesgameroom put together a great video review of the demo, calling it a "seriously fun, high-quality retro title" that plays like a mix of Zombies Ate My Neighbors and True Lies.

We still have a few days left on the clock, which means there is plenty of time to unlock more cool stuff. We are gunning for the Fatman and Team Fat Deluxe CD and console ports next, and we can absolutely pull it off if we keep this momentum rolling.
The countdown is officially on, the shotgun is loaded, and we are ready to finish this campaign with a bang. Let’s make these last few days absolutely wild!
Stay lethal,
The Mega Cat Studios Team
