Hello everyone,
A tidying update. Your daily puzzles, your streak, your town and your rewards are exactly as you left them.
Leaderboards
- You are on every board now. The fastest players are listed as always, and if you are not among them your own row is added at the end, under a small break. One list, with you in it.
- The line above the board tells you where you stand, so a board you are a long way down is still worth opening.
- If you ever set a score while Steam was not running, it never reached the boards and no amount of playing would send it. Those scores are kept now, and your best Shore runs are sent up the next time you play, so a score that went missing finally appears.
- Other players' names sometimes came up blank the first time you opened a board, with their scores and places showing beside the gap. Their names are there now.
- On the Leaderboards page, This week and Medium were cut short to This we and Mediu. Every label fits its button again.
Skyline and the Shore
- The green patch on top of a building, the one that shows where the next piece can land, is now exactly right. It used to be a little narrower than the truth, and it did not allow for a piece dropped near the middle settling square on the floor below. Drop where it is green and the building stands.
- The lean meter is wider, and it now shows which way to drop as well as which way you are leaning. The green stretch along the bar is the room you have left, so the less of it there is, the closer the building is to going over.
- The two warning colours now follow the colour-safe setting, and the meter's limits are marked with a notch as well as a colour.
- A run that scored only a little used to earn no points at all. Any run that scores now earns at least two.
- The button inside a run said Scores while everywhere else said Leaderboards. It says Leaderboards.
- Reduce motion now calms the Shore and the Town, which carried on at full speed whatever the setting said.
- The Shore's card shows today's harbour run as well as your best, and the town across the bay is marked so you can see it is somewhere to tap.
The Trading Post
- Buying something no longer throws you back to the top of the page. The row you pressed stays where it was.
- Your points and acorns sit at the bottom of the screen and no longer scroll out of sight.
- Every exchange now tells you what it is worth, and the best rate is marked.
- The floor and wallpaper pictures were spilling out of their frames and across the names beside them. They stay put now.
- The botanical wallpaper showed as a blank wall, so there was no telling it from a plain one. Its pattern shows.
- On a wide window the shop sits in two columns instead of one long list.
Every puzzle
- Finishing a board has always earned points toward the Trading Post, and the game never mentioned it. Your result now tells you what you earned and how much of the day is left, and says so kindly once the day's points are all in.
- The room you play in can be furnished from the Trading Post: wallpaper, floors, something for the windowsill and a new shade for the reading lamp. Buy nothing and the room is exactly as it was.
- Streak freezes can be bought with acorns, one a month. A bought freeze keeps your streak going and never counts toward a reward you earn by turning up.
Unchanged
- The sixteen dailies you already know, the backyard, the Archive, your streak and your rewards are exactly as you left them, and every board already played deals exactly as before.
- The demo shares this build. The Shore, Skyline, the Town, Checkmate and Buttons are full-game only there.
If something still looks wrong, tell us in the discussions. We would rather fix it the same day.
See you at the cottage.
