Politics has arrived in LIVORA

This update brings a full political layer into your Life.

Governments now form, make decisions, introduce policies, respond to public pressure and fight elections. Those decisions can influence areas such as work, money, housing, healthcare, education and the wider economy.

You can follow politics from the outside, cast your vote when elections come around, or step into politics yourself and build a career.

A living political world

Every Life now has an evolving political landscape.

You can follow the current government, political parties, Parliament, national issues, public opinion, policies and upcoming elections from the Politics area.

Governments have their own priorities, approval, stability and manifesto commitments. Policies can move through legislation and implementation before their effects begin to appear across the wider LIVORA simulation.

Major political developments also appear through World News.

Elections now matter

Election campaigns develop over time rather than simply appearing on election day.

As an election approaches, you can follow:

  • polling and party support

  • the main issues shaping the campaign

  • party manifestos

  • debates and campaign developments

  • your local constituency and candidates

  • the final election results and new Parliament

When election day arrives, you can vote for the candidate in your own constituency.

LIVORA will explain policies, manifestos and how political decisions may affect your Life, but it will never tell you who you should vote for.

Build a political career

Politics is also a full Career path.

You can get involved with a party, help with campaigns, stand for election and build your way through Parliament and government.

Your political journey can take you from local involvement to becoming an MP, Minister, Cabinet member, party leader and even Prime Minister.

Progress is not guaranteed. You can lose elections, fail to gain support, be removed from Cabinet, lose a leadership contest or be voted out of office.

Politics is part of your Life

Political office is connected to LIVORA’s normal Career and Life systems.

If you leave a normal career to become an MP, Politics becomes your actual job rather than an additional second career. Political roles come with salaries, work commitments and normal financial consequences.

If you are voted out as an MP, that political employment ends. You may find yourself unemployed, needing to manage your finances and look for work again.

Moving from MP to Minister, Cabinet or Prime Minister works as progression within the same political career rather than creating duplicate jobs or salaries.

Your health, family, relationships, money, housing, ageing and everything else in your Life continue while you are in politics.

Parliament, Cabinet and government

If your career takes you far enough, you can become directly involved in how the country is run.

As an MP, you can take part in parliamentary decisions and decide whether to support, oppose or abstain on legislation.

As a Minister or Cabinet member, you will deal with government priorities, policy decisions, departmental pressures and political consequences.

Become Prime Minister and you can lead the government itself — managing Cabinet, responding to national issues, setting priorities, delivering manifesto commitments and trying to maintain enough parliamentary and public support to stay in power.

You can still lose that position.

A new Politics interface

Politics also comes with a dedicated interface built around LIVORA’s existing visual style.

You can explore government performance, party support, national issues, policies, polling, parliamentary composition, election results, career progress and political history through dedicated screens, charts and visualisations.

The aim is to keep the system deep while still making it easy to understand.

Your political history continues with the world

Governments change. Elections come and go. Policies succeed or fail. Political careers rise and fall.

LIVORA keeps track of the meaningful moments so that, decades into a Life, you can look back at the governments, elections, reforms and political eras your character lived through — including any part you played in them.

Politics also continues across generations, so a new playable generation does not reset the country around them.

Politics is available now in LIVORA.

Whether you simply want to see how government decisions affect your Life, cast your vote every few years, or try to make it all the way to the top of government, politics is now another part of the Life you create.
