New Content

  • Extended the settings menu
  • Added rebindable shortcuts
  • Added a pause mode

UX & QoL

  • Added a full settings screen with Game, Graphics, Audio and Controls tabs, available from both the main menu and the pause menu. All changes apply and save instantly.
  • Added rebindable shortcuts: every action in the Controls tab can be remapped, with any number of bindings per action, including modifier combinations and mouse buttons.
  • Shortcut hints shown in UI text now display your actual current bindings and update when you rebind.
  • Added a pause mode: all monsters and units freeze while the camera and tooltips stay fully usable. This is useful to e.g. read the tooltip and stat breakdowns of moving monsters.
  • Opening the Steam overlay now also opens the pause menu.
  • Added display options to the Graphics tab: Display Mode (Borderless Fullscreen by default, or Windowed), Monitor (shown only when more than one display is connected) and Resolution (defaults to the monitor's native resolution).
  • Added the Audio tab with Master, Music, Effects and UI volume sliders. Reminder: The game has no audio yet.

Perks were the least meaningful choice in a run. The rebuild is meant to make every perk shape how you play and give each run its own identity. · Counted stacks. Almost all status effects used to be binary: a monster either had one or not. Reworked status effects now come in counted stacks, so the question is no longer whether to commit to a strategy, but instead by…Repel the Darkness PlaGame update16 Aug 2026German Localization and Quest Display UX ImprovementsHighlights · The game is now playable in German. · A new hotkey shows every monster path and outlines all monster spawns at once. · The quest display rotates now together with the camera.
