Patch Notes v0.3.3

Putting out thorough patch notes like a real game dev! :) I already keep detailed notes on all the new changes, so I will start including more of them as separate patch notes so as to not bog down the announcement posts and we'll see how that goes.

These are not going exhaustively list every change but should include all the important bits. Thanks for reading, and thanks for playing!

  • Coin revisions:

    • Starting coins are split; each character’s unique coin faces are on separate coins with one generic face on the reverse.

    • Damage reduced: Hoplite G/X, Javelin G/X, Polearm S/X, Vault S/X, Catapult S/X

    • Hoplite S/X now gives Cover + Thorns to slot.

    • Pin Down and Gale are now only available when playing as unlockable alt versions of the characters.

    • Jettison effects reordered. The base effect is weaker and allows selecting any target, with G/X increasing movement range and S/X increasing damage but limiting to slot targeting.

    • Migrate SX can move any player or enemy unit, instead of adding the (slot - 1) option.

    • Vole Console added.

  • Tutorial revisions:

    • Assist options can be used on the first run, though most are inactive during the tutorial.

    • Second battle enemy layout and coins adjusted to prevent Fox from taking a lot of damage on turn 1 if they do not move.

    • Statuses wearing off is pointed out.

    • Minor text edits.

    • Elderwood town event replaces the last event. Town events now have a proper tutorial.

  • References to entire “turns” changed to “rounds.”

  • Slot now animate with different colors and textures to better reflect the coins being slotted.

  • Helper coin art changed to mint color to match new slot animations.

  • Helper coins refer to adjacent coins as “linked.”

  • Helper coins no longer show their description when coins are executing (except Echo).

  • Fixed Leech heal icon number.

  • Burn Penny no longer activates on the winning turn.

  • Details screen shows a “?” for penny errata.

  • Fixed lots of bugs with Magnet.

  • Bosses are more likely to give tier-2 upgrades if possible.

  • Input remapping now allows axes as buttons (mainly useful for triggers).

  • Multiple save slots are available. Existing data defaults to slot 1.

  • Town events rearranged, with some renames and with some effects altered. There are now 3 towns each in the forest and sea and 2 in the cave.

  • Rat now appears in character select.

  • Market map coin now only contains the coin trade. The rearrange and kit options are found in their own Forge and Scout map coins, respectively.

  • Cave fight background now has a scrolling background for variety, similar to the other zones.

  • Lighting tweaks for all zones, using additional post-processing when graphics quality is not Low/Minimal.

  • Tooltips now always stay fully on-screen.

  • Tooltips from coins in a fight will always display downward if possible, so as to not obscure the units above.

  • Tooltips no longer get stuck open when navigating rapidly between keywords in coin descriptions.

  • “Round Zero” assist option added.

  • Temporarily removing the Chaos fight for demo pacing, sorry!

I have a whole host of bug fixes in this update — primarily little things all over the game with no focus in particular, though it feels like there were a few big things since I made some major revisions behind-the-scenes in order to fix a lot of bugs at once. Most players have run into at least one of these, so the game on the whole should be a little clearer now. Also, the Seattle In…Major update20 Aug 2026Update Version 0.3.4 - Lynx! <Smash announcer voice>Hi, all! Just in time for the Anthro Festival 2026 , I have an exciting addition to the demo: You can now play as Lynx! They’re a berserker type who deals heavy damage but often targets randomly or self-debuffs, so they require more flexibility and planning to use effectively. (They’re also my favorite character to play.) Lynx is unlocked when you clear the second zone, and they’ll immediately…
