Update notes for 2.3.1

The Mailbox opens

Veles 2.3.1 adds an in-game Mailbox: one inbox that carries reward codes, direct gifts and announcements. Around it, the Rite of Ascension has been reshaped so the early board stops asking for a fourteen-archetype scavenger hunt, ESC finally backs out of every screen, and the systems behind purchases, cloud saves and account deletion have been hardened.

New — The Mailbox

  • Mailbox screen, reachable from the main menu, with an unread badge on the button.
  • Redeem Code — type in a code, watch the chest reveal exactly what you were granted, and keep the claim as a dated entry in your inbox. Codes can carry gold, Paragon XP, Trophies, crafting components, reliquary keys, tomes and chests.
  • Direct claims — rewards can now be sent straight to your mailbox with no code involved, then claimed with one tap.
  • Expired rewards are filtered out of the list instead of sitting there dead.

Changed — Rite of Ascension

Trophy variety now scales with how far a node sits from the root, instead of every node demanding a flat five-Trophy recipe.

  • Early nodes ask for fewer distinct Trophies in smaller quantities, so the first rings are reachable without farming every enemy family at once.
  • Board totals are unchanged — each of the 14 archetypes still costs exactly 250 common, 100 uncommon and 25 rare Trophies across the full board, and gold costs are untouched.
  • Nodes you already bought stay bought. Refunds still pay out what you originally spent.

Changed — Quality of life

  • ESC backs out of every screen — Level Select, Inventory, Quests, Reliquary, Leaderboard, Hunter's Diary, Level History, How to Play, Settings and the Mailbox. On Level Select it closes the Trial of Veles selector first if it's open.
  • Exit now asks for confirmation before closing the game.
  • New background art for Ascension, Disciplines, Hero Stats, Inventory, Quests, Leaderboard, Level Select, Level History, How to Play, Hunter's Diary and the Mailbox.
  • UI panels picked up some transparency so the art behind them reads through.
  • Offline cheat entry moved out of Settings and into the Mailbox's Redeem Code field. The cheats that grant concrete items now show the same reward reveal a real code does.

Fixed

  • Virtual joystick misread mouse input, and player input was blocked while the joystick was hidden.
  • Deleting your account no longer holds your Google, Apple or Steam sign-in hostage — the identity is released and can start a fresh profile.
  • Deleting your data now clears your mailbox along with everything else.

Account, purchases and saves

  • Steam and StoreKit purchases are bound to the profile that paid, and a paid order is not released until its reward actually lands.
  • A paid or claimed reward is no longer lost when the grant fails — it is retried and acknowledged.
  • Cloud-save conflict locking is now genuinely atomic, with a real recovery state machine behind it.
  • Network replies and retries can no longer cross player or session boundaries.
  • The server now rejects currency and run values it can prove are invalid.
