The first playtest for Ghost Receipt is now live!
The playtest has started earlier than originally planned and will focus on testing the core pawnshop experience, usability, economy, and overall system stability before the public demo is released.
The main focus of this playtest is:
Inspecting unusual items
Questioning customers
Using claims during negotiations
Buying, pricing, and selling goods
Building and managing your shop
Managing the daily pressure of running a cyberpunk pawnshop
First-person controls and general playability
UI clarity and text readability
Economy balance
Finding possible exploits in pawn deals
Overall system stability during longer sessions
This playtest is specifically designed as a pre-demo test. Only content intended for the public demo is included — this is not the full game.
Although this is still a playtest build, you can expect a largely polished experience with a stable build, polished items, and mostly finished UI.
To keep the test focused, several parts of the full game are intentionally not available:
Only one shop expansion
No playable outdoor area
A limited selection of pawn and shop items
Only a small portion of the full game's content
The major focus is the core first-person pawnshop loop: pawn deals, inspecting items, buying and selling, pricing goods, building your shop, managing the economy, and keeping the business running.
The goal is to collect real player feedback and gameplay data before releasing the public demo.
I especially want to find:
Confusing or unclear interfaces
Economy and balancing problems
Pawn deal exploits
First-person gameplay issues
Progression problems
Stability issues and bugs that appear during longer sessions
Your feedback during this stage will directly help improve the public demo.
Click Request Access on the Ghost Receipt Steam store page.
Players will receive access immediately if you click the playtest button.
The playtest is expected to run for approximately 1–2 weeks, followed by preparations for the public demo.
Thank you for following the development of Ghost Receipt and especially to everyone helping test the game.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you uncover behind the counter.
