Welcome to the FUTURE - 1950s style 🚀

Welcome back, Chefs! 👨‍🍳

When designing the interior of Road Diner, we wanted to capture a very particular idea of the future… the future as imagined in the 1950/60s.
Back then, everything was sleek, optimistic and a little strange. Rounded shapes, chunky proportions, shiny metal and bold colors made everyday objects feel like they belonged to tomorrow.
We took those ideas and brought them to the middle of the desert.

There’s plenty of metal and chrome, but also plenty of rust, worn surfaces and things that have clearly been repaired more than once.
The colors are inspired by the desert around the diner, while the retro-futuristic shapes keep that feeling of optimism and hope for a better future.

And yes... with all the old machinery, rusty details and questionable levels of maintenance, some of us started noticing that it looks suspiciously familiar.
And this is where Fallout also became a particularly useful reference for us. Not because we wanted to recreate its world, but because it understands that very specific contrast: a bright, hopeful vision of the future slowly weathered by time.

That's exactly the feeling we wanted Road Diner to have.
A little bit of Space Age.
A little bit of Route 66.
And a tiny bit of Fallout. 🚀
