Elysium Weekly Devlog #1

Hi everyone,

Enes here from the Elysium dev team. Starting this week, we’ll be sharing a new devlog every Monday. Welcome!

These devlogs will cover our weekly progress, what we’ve been working on as a team, and some behind-the-scenes notes from development.

Multiplayer

  • Co-op gameplay is coming together! We’ve integrated core game mechanics into multiplayer.

  • Co-op is now in closed playtesting, where we’re stress-testing everything to make sure the experience feels smooth, stable, and fun.

  • Testing has already helped us uncover a lot of bugs, and we’re crushing them one by one. Well… most of them.

Localization

  • The game is becoming more accessible around the world! We’ve added localization support for English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German, Simplified Chinese, Swedish, and Turkish.

New Stun & Taming Mechanic

This week, we worked on connecting combat and taming.

  • We added a new stun mechanic for robotic enemies. When players deal Elysiorite damage, especially to weak points, a stun bar now builds up under the enemy’s health bar. Once it fills up, stun-enabled robots become temporarily disabled and can’t take actions.

  • Some non-boss enemies can also become interactable while stunned, which enables player to tame them. It’s still an early version.

Combat & AI Improvements

We also worked on cleaning up combat and enemy behavior.

  • Refactored parts of the armor and weak point systems

  • Improved the structure of these systems so they are easier to expand in the future

  • Fixed attack angle issues in some AI attacks

  • Fixed aggression and jittering problems on the Mecha

  • Cleaned up several small AI behavior bugs

These changes are not the most flashy ones, but they should make fights feel more stable and consistent.

Elysiorite Corruption

On the visual side, we started working on the corruption concept and created a new corruption shader. Take a look:

Environmental Changes

  • Created new boss fight area in Virelia Island, for Mecha

  • Added new mushrooms!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the crouch issue that caused players to snap back into the standing state.

  • Improved swimming transitions, making it much smoother to surface for air and step back onto land.

  • Fixed a climbing issue where players could get stuck at the top of the final ladder.

  • Fixed an issue where players would not die or turn into a ghost when killed while mounted.

What’s Next

Next week is Steam Next Fest!!! We’re really excited about it! Over the next few days, we’ll be working hard on polishing taming, improving the corruption, and fixing as many bugs as possible before the festival.

We’re also aiming to share more updates around June 5 and June 15, so wait for those days.

That’s all for this week. See you next Monday!

King regards,

- Enes @ Elysium Dev Team
