Steam Deck compatibility

Hey everyone!

Incremental Retro Racing has not been officially verified by Valve, and that will probably take some time as they're testing all games. But, good news, the game does work on the Steam Deck.

  • Controls – The game was designed with a gamepad in mind so it works seamlessly with the Steam Deck controls.

  • Docked Mode – Want to play on the big screen? No problem. Connect a Bluetooth controller or keyboard and enjoy it docked.

  • Readable Text – Since IRR looks like a retro game the UI is easily readable with big chunky pixels everywhere.

  • FPS Performance – Runs well without issues.

  • Steam Cloud Saves – Not yet compatible.

  • Wide screen support - Not yet compatible. Runs internally in the very old-school 256x192 4:3 resolution.

Please try out the free demo to see for yourself!

Major update30 Aug 2026Update: New Rock Tracks, M.A.S.K. prototype, and Turbo Turbo KickstarterHi everybody, I've added an extra environment to Incremental Retro Racing. M.A.S.K. is a cartoon and toy franchise from the 80's that some of you might remember. Unfortunately it seems I failed to convince Hasbro to turn the proposal into a real game. With games needing to make…Major update2 Jun 2026Linux support addedHi everybody! I've just added Linux support for both the demo and the full version of Incremental Retro Racing. It's still experimental, but it should work for Ubuntu 22.04 or higher. Please let me know in case it doesn't run for your configuration, and please be sure to mention your OS version. Please enjoy!
