The D.A.M.N! demo is out

I am glad to say that from today you can try, for free, what my family has been making. They worked on making the game interesting and competitive, and friends of mine who are artists made it look and sound fun.

Some of you will recognise the classic cross-shaped board, the same one as in Ludo or Mensch ärgere Dich nicht. That last one really was the starting point for this project: it is what we played as a family in the evenings, until we felt we wanted to control the game rather than be controlled by the die.

That is how the D.A.M.N! Cards rules came about, the ones that let you plan, work together and win by thinking. In the full version those rules get four classes as well: Tank, Saboteur, Scout and Underdog. The demo has only the first two, and only in the more classic rule sets, the ones with a die.

There are four rule sets in all, and you can adjust each of them to your liking.

In an offline match you can mix live players at one computer and bots however you like, and split into teams. Online has a limit: you can only play with one other live player. Remote Play Together is supported though, so the limit is not as hard as it sounds.

The demo also caps save slots at two, and they are kept only on your own computer. The full version has far more of them and keeps them in the cloud.

You also cannot look through match history in the demo, and there is no voice chat. Text chat is there, so you can write to your online opponent.

The full version is planned for the end of the year. Until then I hope you spend your time as cheerfully as my family has spent the last four months, playing almost every evening.

Game update11 Sep 2026Critical fix for online functionalityTwo critical online issues have been fixed in the Demo: · The online login now renews itself, so the session no longer drops after an hour of continuous play. · The game no longer freezes when you quickly double-click a piece or a card during your turn. We also made several changes players asked for: · Removed the automatic dimming of all pieces except yours at the start of a turn. Instead, a b…
