Guilds of Mountgate – Update v0.3.0.5

Greetings Adventurers,

v0.3.0.5 is now live!

With the Early Access journey underway, this update once again pushes progression forward while adding the first pieces of systems designed to give both long-term players and the wider community more to work towards.

The Skill Level cap has now been increased to Level 40, accompanied by new progression opportunities, additional Agility content, further Farming improvements, and plenty of balancing and polish throughout the game.

The First Mastery Journal Entries

The first Mastery Journal entries can now be unlocked.

While the regular Journal is primarily about discovering the world, its resources and recipes, Mastery is intended to provide additional long-term objectives for players who want to dig deeper into individual parts of the game.

This is only the beginning of the system, and more Mastery content will be added as development continues.

The First Community Event

Greenford is now home to the first Community Event.

Players can contribute resources to support the local Smith and work together towards temporary bonuses. These events are another step towards making Guilds of Mountgate feel like a shared world, even though most of its gameplay remains asynchronous.

The system gives resources another purpose while allowing the actions of individual players to contribute towards something larger.

More Agility & Farming

Agility continues to expand with new courses in Amberbend and the Westwood Logging Camp, providing additional ways to train the skill as you progress through Vellgar.

Farming has also received some attention. Peas and Beans can now actually be grown, complete with their respective seeds and progression unlocks.

Drinks With Actual Consequences

Alcoholic beverages now have proper gameplay effects.

Rather than behaving like ordinary consumables, different drinks can provide both benefits and drawbacks, giving them a more distinct purpose and making the choice to use them a little more interesting.

Progression, Trading & Crafting

Another round of balancing and progression cleanup has been completed across several systems.

Various Survival and Cooking unlock inconsistencies have been corrected, merchant inventories now better reflect where the traders are actually located, and several crafting opportunities have been adjusted – including the previously missing Cape recipe at the Riverfork Bridgeworks.

Fishing Bait is now also treated as an equipable item, making its role in the Fishing setup more consistent with the rest of the equipment system.

More Life Through Audio

We've continued expanding the game's soundscape with new environmental and hall effects, improved spatial effects for activities such as Woodcutting, and a dedicated sound for failed crafting attempts.

These may be relatively small additions individually, but together they help locations and activities feel considerably more grounded.

Fixes & Quality of Life

A large number of smaller issues have also been addressed.

This includes improvements to Bank scaling, Quick Time Events, music playback, AFK detection, Farming feedback, Location Bubble positioning, Journal information, UI behavior, and several progression inconsistencies.

We've also resolved an important issue that could occasionally cause an existing item stack to be reset to a quantity of one.

As usual, there are plenty of additional smaller UI, gameplay, balancing, and backend improvements included in the update.

You can find the complete patch notes on our website.

Thank you once again for your feedback, bug reports, and for continuing to play Guilds of Mountgate. Seeing players reach the current limits so quickly certainly keeps us busy – and with Level 40 now open, there is a little more road ahead again.

See you in Vellgar!
