With A-0.0.0h, we are continuing to build the foundations of the world, its interactions, and overall clarity. Alongside smaller UI improvements, this update introduces the first building blocks for systems that will eventually shape the social and political fabric of the game world.
The presence list can now be collapsed and expanded.
The movement compass has been removed. With the introduction of the new map technology, it was no longer necessary.
The in-game devlog has been removed. Future development updates will be communicated exclusively through Steam.
The new “Wet” moodlet represents the effects of water, rain, and damp areas on a character. It is a first step towards a world in which the environment and a character’s condition are more closely connected.
The Wet moodlet is removed after spending 10 minutes in a dry environment.
Having the Wet moodlet grants the following resistances: +50% Fire, -50% Lightning, -50% Ice.
Social classes represent a character’s position within the society of a polity. In the long term, they will influence the roles, opportunities, and expectations associated with a character. This system is about more than status: social classes help structure the world in a believable way and portray different ways of life within the same society.
You can now select your social class during the “Culture” step of character creation. Each culture has its own class system, although neighbouring cultures rarely differ significantly in this regard.
Factions are organised groups with shared interests, goals, or ideologies. They may emerge within a polity, compete with other factions, or exert influence across political borders. While social classes describe a character’s position within society, factions represent the groups and interests with which characters align themselves.
Factions can now have relationships with other factions as well as with individual characters.
Test factions can now be selected during the final step of character creation.
Polities form the political and social framework of the world, including states, cities, territories, and other organised communities. They establish rules, affiliations, and power structures.
Social classes, factions, and polities are closely interconnected: a polity provides the societal framework as a political body, social classes structure its population through culture, and factions express different interests both within and beyond that established order. These systems will be expanded gradually and are intended to have tangible effects on the game world and its inhabitants in the future.
