Regular Update A-0.0.0l

Combat System

  • The combat system is now connected to a pain system. Since combat is currently still limited to fistfights, attacks deal blunt, non-penetrating damage. This damage can cause the “Bruise” injury on anatomy objects. Bruises increase pain and reduce the affected body part’s capacity, if applicable. If a leg is injured, for example, its “Movement” capacity is reduced. The more severe the injury, the slower the character becomes, eventually resulting in complete immobility.

  • The competition-specific K.O. HP value has been replaced with the actual HP value of the anatomy objects.

  • The new “Morale” parameter has been added to the combat system. Morale can decrease during combat due to various influences, including pain and fear, as well as personal traits such as phobias or opposing traits such as “Terror”. Currently, the effects of pain have been implemented first.

  • At the beginning of combat, opponents now turn toward the nearest visible combatant they can fight.

Capacities

  • Several new capacities have been added to the game. They can be viewed in the Health tab of the character sheet.

  • Metabolism: Determines how effectively your character recovers while sleeping. Injuries to the stomach or liver slow down Energy regeneration. At 50% Metabolism, for example, only half as much Energy is restored during sleep. The effects of food remain unchanged.

  • Breathing: Affects physical performance. Impaired Breathing reduces your movement speed and causes you to approach opponents more slowly during combat. If Breathing fails completely, you can neither walk nor attack. Your character will then have only a few seconds of air remaining before losing consciousness, although this does not automatically cause death.

  • Talking: Determines how understandable spoken RP dialogue is. With minor impairment, speech sounds strained and individual words may break off; with severe impairment, entire words are omitted. At 0%, spoken dialogue becomes unintelligible. Action descriptions written outside quotation marks always remain unchanged.

  • Pain: Represents the strain caused by injuries – for this value, lower is better. Hits and bruises increase Pain. During combat, newly inflicted Pain also reduces Morale. If Morale reaches zero, the character gives up due to the pain and is no longer capable of fighting.

Vegetation

  • The wilderness is now more than mere scenery: plants can grow on the map and can be gathered or selectively harvested. Bracken has been added as the first usable plant.

Map Objects

  • Added stationary wooden torches.

  • Added stone buildings.

  • Added bracken.

Items

  • New item: Bracken Frond.

  • New item: Bracken Rhizome.

  • New item: Bracken Spores.

Bug Fixes / Test Report

  • Fixed: Combat announcements and the Battlebar box were incorrectly affected by the lighting system.

  • Fixed: Characters can now see through open doors, just as they can through windows.
