Added reflections to aquarium side walls. Reflective wall sets now mirror nearby fish, decorations, and food, with reflections moving and fading naturally across the glass.
Refined the aquarium surface and glass presentation with cozier lighting, subtle animated light movement, improved god rays, and cleaner blending around the upper corners.
Improved aquarium lighting so colored light is represented more consistently across fish and decorations without tinting the interface.
Moved dirt onto the front-glass layer so fish, decorations, food, eggs, bubbles, and other aquarium contents correctly appear behind it.
Improved cleaning visuals so sponge strokes and dirt render more cleanly, while cleaning no longer causes the entire aquarium to flash.
Fixed live plants being visibly clipped at the edges while swaying.
Fixed newly placed aquarium decorations occasionally appearing at an incorrect oversized scale.
Fixed shop shelf decorations appearing to float above their shelf position; decorations now settle onto the shelf the same way tanks already did.
Reduced the XL/XXL tank shelf footprint slightly. It remains larger than the LG footprint and keeps a true 16:9 aspect ratio.
Tanks now recognize when a shelf slot is occupied by a decoration, suppressing placement hints and blocking drops onto that slot (with a red tint) whether dragging from the overview panel or moving a tank between shelves.
Fixed decorations purchased from the shop shelf not reappearing after reloading the scene.
Fish Behaviour / Feeding
Selected fish are now easier to identify in crowded aquariums with a subtle rarity-colored outline and glow.
Improved feeding across aquarium depth layers so fish no longer become stuck trying to reach food that is positioned on an inaccessible layer.
Adjusted vertical feeding movement so fish travel toward food above and below them at more consistent speeds.
Fixed food landing inside plants becoming effectively invisible and impossible to scoop while remaining available for fish to eat later.
Reduced the lag that could occur when locking or unlocking a fish for sale.
Breeding / Fish Care
Added Family Trees to fish details, tracking known parents and grandparents for fish born in the shop.
Family Trees persist ancestry even after relatives are sold or die, with appropriate Sold and Deceased states, while purchased fish simply omit ancestry that is not known.
Tanks Overview
Added a Reorder mode to the Tanks Overview. Toggling it fades out empty slots and the purchase button, and switches tank cards from click-to-enter into press-and-drag reordering.
Reordering now works like rearranging apps on a phone: dragging a tank toward a gap smoothly slides the other tanks aside to open a space for it, and the new order is saved once Reorder mode is turned back off.
Fixed reordering feeling glitchy: dragging now starts immediately on press instead of after a delay, and the drop target is calculated from the grid's layout instead of from other cards' shifting positions.
Fixed the cursor showing a "not allowed" icon while hovering a tank in Reorder mode; it now correctly shows the click and drag cursors.
Shop / Customers
Added more tactile feedback to the Shop Modular Builder, with squishy placement and movement animations for Shop decorations and click feedback for interactive shelves.
Fixed customers becoming heavily overexposed when hovered while preserving intentional tutorial highlighting.
Improved several customer-facing text and layout details, including clearer wording for water-type requirements.
Fixed decorations in the Shop Builder sometimes showing as unaffordable (or affordable) using stale prices; the shelf now rechecks affordability whenever the player's money changes while the builder panel is open, not only right after a purchase made through it.
Added a white outline over the left and right shop-corner decorations while the Shop Builder is docked down for editing, showing they're clickable; the outline hides while either decoration's panel is open and returns once it closes, and clears entirely once editing mode ends.
Fixed Stacey's happy/angry reaction portrait failing to load due to a misspelled asset name, so her expression now updates correctly like every other customer's.
Fixed Dorothy's dialog and choice panels appearing off to the side; they now appear in the same position as the shop's action buttons panel.
Selecting a fish for a customer's offer now only requires a single click on its card instead of a double-click.
Fixed the fish selection card's health bar rendering outside the card's rounded border; it's now correctly sized and inset within the card.
Removed the automatic "add a fish" shortcut button from the fish selection screen; fish are now added only by clicking their card directly.
Added an edit mode for already-placed shop decorations: toggling it docks the builder panel down, brightens placed decorations on hover, and lets the player click one to pick it up and move it, with slot-restricted dragging, a red/valid placement tint, left-click to finish, right-click to cancel, and Delete to sell it back for a refund.
Moving a placed decoration now hides the mouse cursor and shows a delete-icon indicator following the cursor, matching the same behavior already used when moving tanks.
Fixed clicking near the Deco Toggle or Back buttons while placing or moving a decoration from accidentally triggering those buttons instead of finishing the placement.
Added insufficient-funds styling to the shop's main decoration grid: unaffordable cards are grayed out and show the same "not working" cursor used in the Tank Builder Panel.
Added purchasable decorations for the shop's left and right corners (separate from the main decoration grid), accessed by clicking either corner while in decoration-editing mode. Each opens its own sized card panel, previews the selection directly on the shop decoration before committing, and shows an Equip button that reads "Purchase - G" (disabled if unaffordable) or "Equip" for free re-selection if already owned.
Previously purchased side decorations are now tracked per save, so switching back to one you already own is a free "Equip" instead of a repurchase, and the correct one is restored automatically after reloading the scene.
The default left/right corner decorations now show as "Owned" instead of a price, since they don't need to be purchased.
Cards already owned in the side decoration panels now show "Owned" in place of a price; the card currently being previewed is also dimmed slightly to show it's the active selection.
Fixed opening the left or right corner decoration panel while the other is open sometimes leaving both open at once, or leaving a panel stuck open until a purchase or equip was made; opening one now always closes the other first (restoring its original decoration unless something was already bought), and clicking the same corner's decoration again while its panel is open no longer does anything.
Fixed right-clicking while a corner decoration panel was open incorrectly closing the Shop Builder Panel instead of the open panel; right-click now closes just the open decoration panel first, and only closes the Shop Builder Panel once neither corner panel is open.
Fixed the Shop Builder Panel visibly jumping to its resting position before fading out when closed while docked down for editing; it now fades out smoothly in place and only resets its position afterward, so it opens fresh (not docked) the next time.
Fixed the shop's decoration grid occasionally showing stale, already-removed cards briefly after a purchase or sale due to a deletion-timing issue.
Fixed the main decoration grid's cards sometimes all showing as unaffordable immediately after starting a new game, caused by the grid being built before the player's starting money was fully loaded in.
Navigation / Interface
Further improved transitions between the Shop, Tanks Overview, and aquariums so incoming and outgoing elements remain synchronized and navigation feels smoother.
Fixed cases where entering an aquarium could restore the wrong saved tank state even though the Tanks Overview preview showed the correct aquarium.
Fixed aquarium interface elements receiving an unintended blue tint, keeping UI colors consistent between the Shop and aquarium screens.
The water-type icon now stays grouped with the aquarium name instead of separating or overlapping when space becomes tight.
Fixed the main-menu-to-game transition sound only playing when loading straight into the Shop; it now plays consistently for a new game and for loading a save from either the Main Menu or the in-game Pause Menu.
Settings / Accessibility
Added a Celsius / Fahrenheit setting. Temperature displays and editable temperature values throughout the game now follow the selected unit.
Reworked the Hotkeys section into a scrollable, consistently aligned list and added a Reset Hotkeys button to restore the default controls.
Improved key rebinding so Escape cleanly cancels rebinding and mouse clicks can no longer accidentally become gameplay bindings.
Improved Settings sliders with corrected alignment, full-width tracks, and clearer disabled states.
Updated Pause Menu dropdowns to match the dropdown styling used on the Computer Screen and fixed their menus being clipped.
Tutorial / Notifications
Fixed closing pregnancy or egg tutorial popups during feeding and other aquarium tools being able to leave the tutorial or navigation stuck.
The pregnancy tutorial tip now displays the actual pregnancy icon alongside its explanation.
Fixed the negotiation tutorial's Your Offer area appearing empty even though fish could still be placed into it.
Improved tutorial aquarium highlighting so the relevant tanks remain highlighted for the duration of the objective without unrelated interface elements flashing.
Improved directional navigation during tutorial objectives so using the arrow keys is less likely to interrupt or bypass the intended tutorial flow.
Fixed the starting Neon Tetras being able to duplicate during the early tutorial flow.
Economy / Recovery
Added a financial recovery system to prevent a struggling shop from becoming permanently softlocked.
If the player no longer has enough recoverable money or assets to get the business moving again, Dorothy can offer an interest free 500G emergency loan.
Dorothy waits until the shop is financially healthy enough before asking for repayment, at which point the loan can be repaid in full or gradually through installments.
Audio
The end-of-day sleep lullaby now fades out quickly instead of abruptly cutting or lingering when leaving the Summary Screen, whether by pressing Next Day, Return to Day, or jumping straight to a specific tank from the at-risk fish warning.
