Before getting into these update notes, a genuine thank you to everyone providing feedback for Silly Suspects. A few sneaky bugs managed to slip past us, and the reports coming through the Community Hub and the Discord server have been invaluable. Silly Suspects is in Early Access and will receive continuous updates and bug fixes throughout its journey. Every report helps make the game better.

Now, here's what changed:

NEW

- Crime scene evidence now glows with a pulsing golden outline, making items much easier to spot in the world.
- "Partner" voice-over one-shots added. Your partner now randomly speak during gameplay.
- Dialogue history now shows a clear visual separator between previous conversations and your current exchange, making it easier to follow.

IMPROVEMENTS

- Suspects now run to the crime scene instead of casually strolling.
- Friendship challenges at the crime scene now have a delay before appearing in normal cases, giving detectives time to investigate before being offered puzzles.
- Declining a friendship challenge no longer permanently removes it. The suspect will offer it again after a cooldown.
- News carousel transitions now run on unscaled time, so pausing the game no longer breaks the animation.
- Journal system reliability improved with better page manager resolution.
- News carousel dot indicators now properly initialise on setup.

BUG FIXES

- Fixed dead NPCs not being properly recorded as victims, which could cause investigation tracking issues.
- Fixed a broken fishtank crime item model that was causing visual issues at crime scenes.
- Removed an unused crime item that was still appearing in the evidence pool.
- Fixed friendship challenge offers persisting incorrectly after being declined or completed.
- Fixed news carousel navigation failing under certain loading conditions.
- Cleaned up old journal and tutorial assets that were no longer in use.

After hearing one too many gruesome true crime stories from my wife, I wanted to create something that captured the fun of solving mysteries without all the gore that usually comes with the genre. That idea eventually became Silly Suspects. A comical, Guess-Who detective mystery, in Silly Suspects players investigate…
