Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹July has been another fantastic month for the team!Following the release of our latest gameplay video, we were completely blown away by your response. In just a few days, the video surpassed 100,000 views, with an overwhelmingly positive reception from the community. One of the best parts for us has been reading comments from people who initially had doubts about the project but changed their minds after seeing the latest progress. There is simply no better reward for the team than knowing our hard work is paying off.Thank you for your incredible support. ❀️In case you missed it:This month, we also welcomed Thomas to the team!Thomas is joining us for the long run and will contribute to many aspects of the project. He's a true Unreal Engine specialist and an official Unreal Authorized Instructor. His very first mission is one you've been asking for for a long time: taking our rider animations to the next level. We've already made excellent progress, but we'd rather wait a little longer before showing it. We want the first reveal to truly represent the quality we're aiming for. Stay tuned... it's coming! πŸ‘€Before we get started, we have a small favor to ask:πŸ‘‰ Wishlist on Steam πŸ‘ˆWe've now reached more than 66,000 wishlists! Every new wishlist helps us reach more motocross fans around the world and brings us one step closer to release.

🚧 What's new in July?

🧬 Physics Team (Pablo & John)

Camera Improvements We heard your feedback loud and clear! Camera preferences are incredibly personal, so we've added much more flexibility to both first and third-person cameras.

Players can now adjust:

  • Field of View (FOV)

  • Camera distance

  • Camera height

  • Several additional parameters

Our goal is simple: let everyone build the camera that feels right for them.

Improved Bike StabilityBike stability continues to receive attention every month.July brought another significant round of improvements, resulting in a bike that feels noticeably more planted and predictable across many riding situations.Stamina SystemMore work has gone into polishing the stamina system. The feature is now largely in place, and the team has started the tuning phase to find the right balance between realism and enjoyable gameplay.

βš™οΈ Dev Team (Jonathan, Lilian, JM & JN)

Game ModesWork continued on the different race session types. The current implementation is becoming increasingly solid and is getting very close to the vision we had from the beginning.UI ImprovementsSeveral new interface screens have been designed and are scheduled for implementation next month, including the gate selection screen before races.Replay ImprovementsReplay files have been heavily optimized, dramatically reducing disk space usage.Replays now also correctly display each rider's selected customization instead of using a generic gear set.Multiplayer ProgressMultiplayer continues to improve every month. The latest version already feels much smoother, with better overall performance and stability. There's still plenty of work ahead, but it's getting closer with every iteration.New Internal ToolsOne thing players rarely see is how much time we invest into building tools that speed up development. This month, we developed a new system allowing artists to create ruts with extremely precise shapes. Besides making track creation faster, it also gives our physics developers consistent scenarios to fine-tune bike behavior inside ruts.

🎨 Artistic Team (JV, Hellmachine, Mat, Louis & Thomas)

The art team has continued expanding both the world and the tools behind it.Highlights include:

  • Development started on several new tracks:

  • - Reche Canyon (Freeride)

  • - Arenacross / Beginner Supercross track

  • Crowd system stress tests with more than 10,000 spectators while maintaining excellent performance.

  • A brand new helmet model.

  • An official team semi-trailer.

  • Design of the exclusive Kickstarter gear rewards.

  • New environmental props and vegetation, including optimized trees and bushes offering performance gains of up to 80%.

πŸ“… What's next?

Summer is in full swing, and a few members of the team will be taking some well-deserved vacations. Development is still moving forward, with the team focusing on:

  • Finalizing the new rider animations

  • Completing the Kickstarter-exclusive gear rewards

  • Finalizing the Game Mode system

  • Progressing and completing several new tracks

  • Continuing daily physics improvements

  • Improving the crash system

  • Continuing multiplayer development

  • Further refining the steering

  • Creating additional 3D assets

  • Integrating new UI elements

Thank you once again for your incredible support. Passing 66,000 wishlists is another fantastic milestone, and seeing this community continue to grow motivates us every single day.Every month brings us one step closer to the motocross simulation we've all dreamed about. We're building this game with passion, together with all of you.You all rock! 🀘The Motocross The Game Team 🧑
