It's Genesis Devlog Friday, and we have a lot to celebrate this week. As your 80,000 wishlists reward, you got to vote on which stage we'd showcase next, and unlock a special gameplay reveal to go with it. Over 10,000 of you weighed in, and the winner with a clear lead is... Stage 4: The Western Wall. So that's exactly what we're diving into today.
Linirea is bordered to the west by a vast stretch of barren steppes, lands that have suffered a long and unforgiving drought. And out there, beyond the Kingdom, live the orcs. With their homelands turning to dust, the orc clans have begun pushing eastward in search of greener pastures. Unfortunately for them, those greener pastures happen to belong to the King.
To keep the orc raids at bay, King Denas Sr. has commissioned a great defensive wall to separate the Kingdom from the western steppes. For a job this big, he turned to the best stoneworkers around. Dwarven engineers set up camp in the mountains, mining stone and raising the wall block by block. By the time Gerald and his forces arrive, the orcs have already shown up to interrupt the work, as is tradition.
