Hello again! We are bringing you our newest update. It was a bit of an interesting process, so while we tell you what's new, we will also answer some of your questions and talk about some issues.
First, let me tell you what is in the update:
You can now interact with the labels.
We fixed the issues with placing items and item counts.
There are TVs in every level. This way, you can keep tidying up while watching something.
Few other things are fixed
We checked the fine-tuning for every level again. We played and finished every level again and again. Good news: we didn't see any bugs.
Now, let's talk about these updates one by one and answer your questions.
Interactive Labels:
A lot of players said they didn't understand the labels in the game. Now, when you interact with a label, you can see what the item is in the middle of the screen. Also, there was a small visual bug with items like meat, fruits, and vegetables. We fixed that too. Now, you can see all labels and items in your hand, in the bottom right corner, and in the middle of the screen.
About placing items and item counts:
This was one of our biggest issues. I want to give a slightly technical explanation about this. This is exactly why we couldn't fix these problems in just 1-2 days. Since we designed the game with a "Free Layout" and the item count can reach around 10,000 in higher levels, we couldn't test every situation. The rules for shelves to accept items go through a few different filters. The position and the order you place the items change the results of these filters. Because of this, your shelf might not work correctly in places where many other players have no problems. We added some safeguards to bring this issue close to zero. But it is still not exactly zero. To fix this completely, we would need to redesign all the items and shelves from scratch. Unfortunately, that would take as much time as developing the whole game. Also, we don't want to take the "Free Layout" feature away from players who love it.
Before, we used to put extra space between different types of items. This caused items with the same shape but different colors to count as different types. As a result, some objects couldn't fit into obvious empty spots. Now, this spacing is the same everywhere, so the risk of this problem is very low.
When we added the dynamic shelf system, shelves with only one type of item caused issues. If you put only one type of item on a shelf, the number of items kept changing constantly because of the dynamic system. Because of this, a lot of players had to play with extra or missing items. However, when we turned off the dynamic shelf system, items couldn't fit well when you tried to put different types of items on the same shelf. Since there are only a few shelves that hold multiple types of items, we turned off the dynamic shelf system and balanced the item counts again (for example, the salt count in level 3 dropped from 21 to 18).
We spent every day of this update trying different solutions for these problems. We tested them over and over again for every item across 5 levels. We are releasing this update in its most stable and accurate version. We hope you won't run into anything that ruins your experience this time.
We added TVs to different parts of the levels. You can watch videos on YouTube, or like me, you can play chess games on it. Tidying up while my opponent is thinking about their move, or tidying while listening to the news felt really good. So, we added it to the game. I hope you like it!
For now, you can't access live streams or specific movie/TV show websites on it. This is due to copyrights and licenses. Because of this, you will probably only be able to watch videos and Shorts on YouTube. Still, if you want to visit other websites, you can do that. Also, since this is technically a web browser, its sound works independently from the game's sound settings. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
As I mentioned, most of the bugs in the game were caused by the way and order you placed items. We also did our best to prevent some very rare and unique bugs from happening. We tried to add new things compared to similar games, and this slowed us down a lot. We are sorry that this fix took a bit of time.
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who played the game. You helped us fix tiny details that we couldn't see. Thank you so much for playing our first game!
Much love!
