It's been almost a month since KUBB launched. Thank you to everyone who bought it, played it, and lost a night chasing a high score. For a small team, that means a lot.
Throughout the month we read every piece of feedback you sent by email, by message, and in person, and we improved the game with it. Most of it shipped quietly, as small updates. Here's the full picture:
CONTROLS
- A second rotate button: counter-clockwise rotation is on Z and LB, and RB also rotates clockwise. All rebindable.
- Fixed: rebinding the A button to another action on a controller removed the menu confirm button. Affected saves repair themselves.
- The Inverted Dimension now has the same lock delay and ground rotation as the normal board.
DIMENSIONS
- Fixed: the Inverted Dimension could end early with the board nearly empty.
- Fixed: the game could freeze in the Spiral Dimension when fire reached a spore colony.
- Fixed: the Four Horsemen never arrived inside the Scrapyard Dimension. There is no escape now.
VISUALS AND INTERFACE
- The shockwave now spreads as an expanding wave instead of a beam, destroying cells as the wave reaches them.
- The speed at which fire burns through a spore colony now scales with game speed.
- Tutorial frames wrap their content correctly at every resolution.
- Deck info cards no longer overflow when augments make their text longer.
- Horseman card frames and text now fit the card in every language.
BALANCE AND FIXES
- Destructor spawn rates slightly reduced; disasters increased across all levels.
- Fixed: a spore colony growing near the edge of the board could end a run unfairly.
- The best score on the main menu now shows only your own personal record.
