Hy-MT2 is now the default translation model
On PCs without a dedicated GPU, the larger default models (3-4GB) could take minutes to load — translations looked stuck even though nothing was broken. Hy-MT2 1.8B is a translation-focused model at about a quarter of the size, so it downloads and starts much faster.
- New setups — start on Hy-MT2 when both the game language and your language are supported: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Vietnamese, Russian, Greek, Turkish, Czech, Dutch.
- Recommendation — for these languages we generally recommend Hy-MT2 as the day-to-day model.
- Higher-quality models — Gemma and Qwen are still downloaded in the background and stay available in the model list; pick one and Playto keeps your choice.
- Existing setups — nothing changes. Your current model stays as-is.
