Steam Co-op has received its first major round of fixes and improvements!
This update focuses on improving the overall multiplayer experience, making it easier to join friends, and fixing several issues from the first experimental release.
Fixed an issue where all players could appear with the Host's Steam name.
Player names are now correctly assigned to each individual player.
The chat has also been fixed so that each player now uses their own Steam name when sending messages.
Fixed an issue where the Host could not use the Bus Driver to skip the waiting time once another Client had joined the server.
The Host and Clients can now use the Bus Driver correctly in Steam Co-op.
The multiplayer chat has received several improvements:
Chat messages can now be scrolled.
The chat now handles large numbers of messages better.
After 25 messages, older messages are gradually removed to prevent the chat from becoming excessively large.
Chat notifications for messages received while the chat is closed are still displayed temporarily.
You no longer have to navigate through the Play menu to find Steam Co-op.
There is now a dedicated Steam Co-op button directly in the Main Menu.
Simply click it to go straight to Bus Station 8 - Steam Co-op.
A new Join Friends button has been added next to the Steam Co-op button.
If one of your Steam friends is currently hosting a Bus Station 8 Co-op lobby, their lobby will appear in the Join Friends list.
You can simply select your friend and join their game directly.
You can also still join through the normal Steam invite system.
The Pause Menu is now available in Steam Co-op.
Press ESC to open it.
You can now properly access the menu and leave the game without having to use Alt + F4.
Translations are now partially working in Steam Co-op.
However, some translations may still be incorrect, incomplete, or missing.
Please keep this in mind when playing in a language other than English.
The next update will bring the Voice Lines that are already present in the Singleplayer version into Steam Co-op.
The Voice Note Papers will also be added to the Co-op experience.
The main focus is still on improving Bus Station 8 and making the Steam Co-op experience as stable and enjoyable as possible.
Thank you for playing, testing, and reporting bugs! ❤️
