Hands-on tutorial, Scene Album & Chinese pinyin

This update rebuilds the first-run tutorial into something you play, adds a Scene Album that keeps your sessions as screens, and makes overlays steadier during play.

A tutorial you play, not read

The tutorial is now a small playable scene. You read a few lines with live translation, stop the session, save words, and sort tonight's album — the same loop you'll use with real games. It runs even while the translation model is still downloading, resumes where you left off if interrupted, and can be replayed anytime from Guide. The setup steps now also explain what each choice means: how Text, Text+ and Image read the screen, which model translates, and where the overlay appears.New installs also get a First Steps list on Home, so it's always clear what to try next.

Scene Album — your session, kept as screens

  • When a session ends, the screens you actually read are collected into an album automatically — no manual saving.

  • At the end of the session review you sort them: keep what's worth studying, drop the rest.

  • Kept scenes come back in Daily Review as image cards — see the original screen first, reveal the translation, then grade yourself.

Steadier overlays and a more complete Log

  • Scene changes now clear only the text that actually changed, instead of wiping the whole overlay.

  • Fixed several cases where lines never reached the Log — text on still screens, and lines advanced past quickly.

  • Duplicate Log entries are sharply reduced, and album images now attach to their sentences reliably.

Pinyin for Chinese

Words and practice modes now show pinyin ruby for Chinese, the same way Japanese shows furigana.

Also in this update

  • Guide additions: where models come from, why the default is the default, and how to retranslate a line from the Log when a translation falls short.

  • For new installs, anonymous usage statistics are on by default so we can find issues faster. You can turn this off anytime in Settings — details are in the privacy policy.
