Hi Folks!
First off, hello from the Eighth Lantern Studios team! We're a small crew of game devs working on a volunteer and part-time basis to bring Toypunk to life. One of our goals is to develop this game in the open together with the community. Thanks for your patience while we learn the ropes and muster up resources to keep everyone updated.
Today, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at some work-in-progress development on one of the core features of the game: Character Customization. Or, as we like to call it...
Our puppet characters in the world of Toypunk are called Foppits, because they're good folks and kind of the underdogs, like Hobbits, but they're also fuzzy, foppish puppets, so... Foppits. A core fantasy of the game is that you can build your own Foppit. Here's an early look at where that's headed:
The Toypunk character creator should feel like your own digital puppet workshop. That's the aspiration. So, not just color swaps, but head shapes, facial features, outfits, and accessories.
Keep in mind that this is very early prototype work, so things will change and evolve from here.
Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes info, and let us know what you think!
Thanks!
