Hey everyone,
Some of you are finding Rewind 99 for the first time this week - welcome. Good timing, because our biggest update yet lands August 27 at 8 AM PT.
What's coming:
A deep optimization pass across the whole game
Rebuilt employee AI - your staff will actually do their jobs
A batch of quality-of-life features pulled straight from community requests
Plenty more we'll detail on the day
Two things I want to be upfront about:
1. You'll need to start a new save. We fought hard to avoid this through all of Early Access. This update rebuilds a lot of the game's foundation, and there was no version of that which kept old saves intact. I'm sorry - I know that's a real cost if you've got a store you like. You'll still be able to play old save files through our "Legacy" build, which you'll have as a boot option when starting the game from your Steam library.
2. Multiplayer may be disabled at launch. Single player is running smoothly. Multiplayer is still bumpy, and I'd rather turn it off than ship something that ruins your session. We'll publish a "Legacy" branch so you can keep playing multiplayer and access your existing saves on the current version. Nobody loses access to anything.
After the 27th:
We'll be pushing hotfixes aggressively - expect us to be responsive and fast in that first week.
And this is not the finish line. Shortly after the update, we're publishing a content roadmap covering the rest of the year and where Rewind 99 goes from there. We intend to keep working on this game as long as people want us to.
I'll be in the Steam Discussions and our Discord throughout. If you've got questions, concerns, or a bug, come find me - I'd rather hear it directly.
Thanks for being here.
