We're honored to announce that we will take part in the upcoming FPS Gaming Show on September 3rd, alongside a great lineup of titles from across the FPS gaming space; including some of the largest and most innovative games in the genre.
During the show we will be releasing a new trailer as well as releasing our first major content update.
We have already showcased the map which will be released as part of this upcoming update. If you missed it, you can read more about it here. In addition, Content Update 1 will include a first implementation of our progression system – allowing you to rank up as you play '83.
We will go more into detail on what else Content Update 1 will bring to '83 as early as next week, so keep your eyes peeled on our channels for more information.

Alongside the update, we will also be releasing a time limited free demo which will give everybody the opportunity to try out '83 for free, experience all the additions and improvements which has been implemented since our launch and ultimately make an informed decision if they'd like to support us in our early access journey by purchasing the game.
It’s worth noting that demo players will not be able to join servers running the base game, but we will have plenty of servers set up for the demo.
In addition, a sale will also be live during the period at a significant discount, exact percentage and duration to be revealed closer to the date.
We wanted to give everybody interested in '83 a chance to try out the full game for free so they can make an informed decision on the game when it’s played with the intended player counts. Additionally, we want to highlight the many improvements to all aspects of the game since our Early Access launch earlier this year.
Providing a time-limited free demo allows us to offer an experience almost identical to an official free weekend.
The most important thing to note is that the demo and base game are separate apps and therefore cannot share servers. This is unfortunately something which is unavoidable from a technical standpoint.
Because of this, we expect most players will be on the demo build for the duration of the event and encourage everybody to do the same to ensure that you'll find populated servers to play on.
In addition, it's important to note that '83 is an Early Access title, and it is by no means complete, either in content or feature functionality.

Content wise, the entire game (including Content Update 1) will be available in the demo, with the notable exceptions of community server support; and character progression, which was excluded as it cannot carry-over to the main game after the event ends.
How long is the free demo available?
The free weekend will be available starting Thursday, September 3rd – 7 PM BST / 6 PM CEST / 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT and runs up until Monday, September 7th - 10 AM BST / 11 AM CEST / 5 AM ET / 2 AM PT.
We will also be running a sale alongside the demo event, timings and discount percentage will be revealed closer to the date!
