Game update

Update 1.1 - Ability Toggles, Balance Changes & More

Diggin · published

First off, we want to thank you for all your support so far! We're very happy to see people enjoy our game, and can't wait to show you more :)

We've read through your feedback and reviews, and this update tackles the most requested changes!

Here's everything we changed:

Turn abilities on and off

  • Every automatic ability (dynamite, drones, pickaxes, worms, shockwave...) can now be switched off and back on whenever you want.

  • Right-click an ability in the skill tree to toggle it - on controller, press A/X on an owned node.

  • On the HUD, right-click an ability's icon before you start drilling.

  • Disabled abilities grey out and stop firing until you turn them back on; the game remembers your choices.

Overdrive

  • You now start every run with a full Overdrive tank - burst away from the very first block.

  • Overfuel and Leftovers now go up to 20 levels each - they get expensive fast, so maxing them is a true late-game goal.

Abilities hit harder when you unlock them

  • Every mid- and late-game ability now deals way more damage the moment you buy it: Drill Drones one-shot the upper layers of your current density, and Bullet Worms, Aftershocks, Shrapnels, Spinning Pickaxe, Bouncing Ball, Boomerang Pickaxe and Drill Missiles all got big baseline damage boosts.

  • Last Ditch Effort now kicks in at 20% fuel instead of 5%.

Controller improvements

  • New: controller rumble (experimental) - feel every block break, explosion and Molenir strike. Works on Steam Deck too.

  • Claiming a mission now jumps focus to the next completed one - claim a whole stack with repeated presses.

  • The cursor stays hidden while you play on a controller.

Fixes

  • The Worm no longer chews holes in the bedrock wall.

  • Text no longer gets clipped in the Quests and Fossils panels (Chinese).

  • Story cutscene text now stays inside its text box in every language.

  • Big fuel and energy numbers no longer get cut off on the HUD.

  • Long quest progress numbers no longer overlap the reward.

  • Skill-tree descriptions now show the real damage/fuel numbers you'll actually get.

Miscellaneous

  • Removed Herobrine

Hope you guys like the changes! See you in the next update :)

Keep on Diggin!

  • Longshot Team
