Dear Earthling,

There’s a lot happening all at once right now, so it’s time for a pretty big community update!

SALES THIS WEEK

Just over the past few days, the game has seen a massive influx of new players thanks to Splattercat featuring it on YouTube. To everyone who discovered the game through that video: welcome, and thank you so much for giving it a chance!

Because of that exposure, the game made a huge leap in both sales and wishlists. In a single day alone, it earned over $4,500 gross revenue, which is by far the highest sales day the game has ever had and it currently made $16,133 gross this week alone. Seeing so many new people enjoying the game, sharing feedback, and joining the community has honestly been incredible.

I truly appreciate all the support and exposure the game has received recently, and I personally thanked Splattercat for showcasing it. Moments like this mean a lot to indie developers, and I’m very grateful to everyone who has played, watched, commented, or added the game to their wishlist.

Here is the most rcent week sale report:

RPG UPDATE II

The RPG II update was one of the smoothest and most stable launches the game has had so far. Thanks to all the players who helped test the beta branch and report bugs early, I was able to release the RPG II update in a relatively stable state compared to previous major updates.

Of course, there are still plenty of issues left to fix, and the sudden surge of new players has filled the forums and Discord with bug reports, feedback, and suggestions. I want to sincerely thank everyone for taking the time to share their experiences and help improve the game.

The amount of support and activity lately has honestly been overwhelming in the best possible way. I’m reading through everything, even if I can’t respond immediately, and I’ll be working on fixes and improvements as quickly as possible. Thank you again for your patience, support, and enthusiasm for the game.TUTORIAL

There seems to be some confusion about where the tutorial is, especially from people who discovered the game through Splattercat’s video. Just to clarify: the tutorial is not gone, it has only been temporarily disabled while I experiment with better onboarding approaches for the game.

Right now, I’ve been testing a more open-ended sandbox-style popup tutorial instead of the older story-driven, hand-holding tutorial system. Surprisingly, both approaches have been received pretty well by different types of players. Some people enjoy learning through exploration and experimentation, while others prefer a more guided introduction that explains mechanics step by step.

After reading a lot of your feedback and suggestions, I think the best solution is to support both styles. My current plan is to re-enable the original story-driven tutorial as soon as possible while also keeping the newer sandbox-style tutorial implemented.

That way, players will be able to choose the experience they prefer directly from the menu:

  • A fully guided, hand-holding tutorial

  • A more open-ended sandbox tutorial

  • Or no tutorial at all for experienced players who want to jump straight in

Thank you all for the feedback and patience while I continue improving the game experience for new players.

LINUX ISSUES

There have been several issues reported by Linux users regarding save files becoming corrupted or, in some cases, being erased entirely. I’m aware of the problem, and these issues will be properly addressed once I add official Linux support for the game.

From the feedback I’ve received so far, Proton 10.0-4 appears to be the most stable version and is currently confirmed by multiple players to work without these save-related issues.

So, in the meantime, I strongly recommend using Proton 10.0-4 if you are playing on Linux until I can investigate and implement a more permanent solution.

Thank you to everyone who has been reporting bugs, testing different Proton versions, and helping narrow down the cause of the issue. Your feedback has been extremely helpful.MOVING HOUSES

On a more personal note, as some of you may already know, my wife, the kids, and I are currently in the process of buying a house. The past few weeks, honestly, even the past few months, have been pretty hectic for us.

We’ve been busy stripping down our rental property, handling mountains of paperwork, signing documents, and trying to organize everything that comes with such a major life change. It’s been exciting, but also very exhausting and time consuming.

Finally, on Monday the 18th, we’ll officially receive the keys to our new home we bought. After that, we’ll be spending the next few weeks moving our belongings over and getting everything settled in.

So if development updates or responses are a little slower than usual during this period, that’s the reason why. I’m still working on the game as much as I can, and I really appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we go through this transition.SMALL HOLIDAY

Lastly, because of all the hard work and the stressful period we’ve been going through over the past few weeks, my wife, the kids, and I will be taking a small holiday next week.

From May 18th until May 21st, we’ll be visiting an amusement park together to relax a bit and blow off some steam after everything that has been happening recently with the move, the house, and the game updates.

During this time, I really want to focus on spending some quality time with my family. I’ll still be checking messages and keeping an eye on things here and there, but I probably won’t be responding as actively as usual.

Once the short holiday is over, I’ll be back to work and continuing development as normal. Thank you all again for the incredible support, patience, and understanding lately, it genuinely means a lot to me and my family. That’s all for now!

Also, if not already, please link yourself up to all social media platforms to stay up-to-date.Discord Server
