We can finally ponder one of the greatest questions currently facing humanity... "Where demo?"
We hear you loud and clear! We know you’re getting eager to play the Gold Mining Simulator 2 Demo, so today we are coming to you with a massive update on its development state.
As we promised, our goal for early 2026 was to get the build into the hands of playtesters first to ensure everything works perfectly. We recently did exactly that by launching a private playtest with our amazing community translators!
Their feedback was incredibly positive, but it also highlighted one crucial thing: the demo has grown so massive and packed with content that it is simply impossible to play without a proper save system. This is exactly why we do playtests! Instead of rushing the release, we took their feedback to heart and spent the last couple of months building a robust save system from scratch. It took some extra time, but it guarantees that your first experience with GMS2 will be smooth, rewarding, and exactly as it should be.
Since our recent focus has been heavily on implementing the save system and polishing the build—updating the UI, refining VFX, and integrating translations—we decided to skip the standard "dev presenation" devlog format today.
