First of all, we have great news: we decided to keep the Gold Mining Simulator 2 Demo available on Steam for longer! We want to make sure everyone gets a chance to break ground, test our new core mechanics, and share their feedback with us

Alongside this decision, we’ve just deployed a fresh patch for the demo packed with performance tweaks, memory optimizations, and critical bug fixes based directly on your reports.

🔧 Demo Update Changelog

Performence & Optimization

FSR Support Added: You can now enable AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution for better performance!
Intel 13th & 14th Gen Fix: Fixed an engine issue affecting Intel 13th and 14th generation CPUs that was causing extreme performance drops (up to 90% FPS loss)!
Memory Consumption: Optimized long-range view rendering to lower memory usage.
Far Assets & Textures: Adjusted far-render texture sizes for faster loading times and experimented with asset loading distances to reduce hitches and micro-stuttering.
Foliage & Water: Optimized foliage shaders for better FPS on lower-spec systems. Water on lowest settings no longer looks like a smudgy blob.
Denser Forests: Long-distance trees are now more solid, providing a better, more coherent look of dense forest landscapes.
UI & Text Rendering: Partially reworked the text rendering algorithm to prioritize and display clearer, higher-quality text.
Gold Institute Fixes: Fixed locked doors after completing the demo questline and solved the issue where players could get stuck after saving and loading near the end.
Pickup Truck Fix: Fixed crashes and collision issues related to the pickup truck.
Graphics Settings: Fixed issue with settings reverting/changing back and forth upon restart or cancel. (Note: Some graphics settings may still require a game restart to apply correctly).
Anti-Aliasing & Translations: Fixed several AA glitches and updated missing localization texts.
Asset Updates: Updated and polished several environmental assets.
