Here’s the latest update on what’s been happening, and what’s coming next, with The Last Werewolf.
The date is set: we’re exiting Early Access and moving into Official Launch 1.0 on 10th October 2025.
Why that date, you ask? Two big reasons: PAX Aus Day 1 and World Mental Health Day.
Once again, I’ll be heading to Melbourne, Australia, to showcase the game. This will be the last dedicated showcase for The Last Werewolf before I shift focus to the next project.
I’ll be showcasing the game at ACMI in Melbourne on 9th October 2025. It’s a fantastic opportunity to talk about representing mental health through games. The Last Werewolf will be on display between 9:30 am and 10:30 am, and I’ll also be giving a short talk on designing for meaningful play.
I’ll be back at PAX Australia this year, starting 10th October 2025! The demo (with the latest updates) will be available to play, and we’ll also have some cool merch on hand: colouring books and our feature item: enamel pins designed by Skye Wolken.
Swing by and say hi!
As you know, The Last Werewolf has always been about more than the supernatural. It’s a story about mental health, identity, and learning to live with the parts of ourselves that can feel overwhelming. That’s why aligning the official launch with World Mental Health Day feels especially important.
At PAX Aus, I’ll be raising money for SANE Australia, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness, providing resources, and supporting families affected by complex mental health conditions. As a thank-you, I’ll be giving out green ribbon enamel charms with each donation made at the booth.
If you can’t make it in person, you can still support the fundraiser via the JustGiving website. 100% of donations go directly to SANE. Let’s see if we can reach the goal together: Fundraiser via JustGiving
We now have full controller support! That means you can finally kick back with a gamepad and play however you like. We’d love your feedback on how it feels and if you run into any issues.
Good news: the game should now be working on Steam Deck! If you run into anything odd, please let us know so we can smooth it out quickly. Just a heads-up, though, it’s not yet Steam Deck Verified, so expect a few things to still be under review.
We now have Steam Achievements for the game!! You can check them out on the Steam page.
