Arma: Cold War Assault Remastered · published

This update improves mod compatibility, controls, display settings, multiplayer reliability, campaign text, and crash reporting. It also restores objects on classic community islands.
Added: Mods can provide their own single-player missions, multiplayer missions, editor templates, and intro cutscenes without files being copied into the player profile.
Added: Mod islands can provide their own main-menu intro scenes from an Anims folder.
Added: Mods can provide replacement TrueType fonts, including fonts with non-Latin character sets.
Improved: Total-conversion mods can replace the base game configuration without unwanted vanilla classes appearing in the editor.
Fixed: Classic 4WVR and RVW community islands once again load their buildings, walls, trees, and other placed objects.
Fixed: Accented world and map-location names display correctly in the editor, mission browser, multiplayer screens, waypoint lists, and map.
Fixed: Repeated shots from mod weapons using streamed OGG sounds remain audible.
Added: Map zoom in, map zoom out, and cheat entry can be rebound, with localized control names in all eight supported languages.
Added: Perform Action appears in the Gunner controls, while Fast Forward and Slow Forward appear in Vehicle controls.
Changed: Brightness and gamma are shown and adjusted as exact decimal values, and untouched profiles receive the intended 1.2 gamma default.
Changed: New and existing profiles that used Unlimited now default the frame-rate limit to the display refresh rate, while Native and Unlimited are explained in all supported languages.
Improved: The controls screen accepts modifier-only and modifier-plus-key bindings, lets players clear either binding slot, highlights the selected slot, and scrolls long key names.
Improved: Gamma correction now works consistently on Windows and Linux without changing the whole desktop display.
Fixed: Holding the Turbo modifier while driving now increases vehicle speed.
Fixed: Profiles created before the new actions were added receive their default bindings without losing existing custom bindings.
Fixed: Custom profile field-of-view values remain active after startup and window-size changes.
Fixed: Saved difficulty options such as Enemy Tag and Ultra AI remain active after restarting the game.
Fixed: Audio is silent while the game is unfocused and resumes at the correct position when focus returns.
Fixed: Text input and IME processing is active only while an editable text field has focus, preventing unwanted pop-ups and swallowed keys.
Fixed: The 1985 and Resistance campaigns show the correct debriefing text and linked Intel page for every reachable mission outcome.
Fixed: HTML entities in mission descriptions display correctly as accented characters and non-breaking spaces.
Fixed: The CWC prologue shows the telephone handset in Gastovski's hand, and binocular-slot items supplied by mods are also drawn correctly.
Fixed: A soldier carrying both binoculars and night-vision goggles raises the binocular model instead of the night-vision model.
Fixed: Gastovski now sits on the office chair in the CWC prologue and epilogue scenes.
Fixed: Multiplayer and standalone missions can save and restore scripted status data such as persistent loadouts and mission options.
Fixed: Runtime mission objects no longer reuse terrain object IDs, preserving damage and scripted access to map objects.
Fixed: On unlocked non-JIP servers, late players wait for the next mission while players already connected continue into the current mission.
Fixed: Leaving a multiplayer session after server traffic stalls now offers Disconnect and closes the session instead of opening an unusable debriefing screen.
Fixed: Dedicated servers no longer hang during shutdown when a player connection arrives during session teardown.
Fixed: Squad names, member details, and insignia remain available to join-in-progress players and resolve correctly from profiles with non-ASCII paths.
Added: Desktop launches keep the ten most recent game logs and crash reports in the user data folder.
Added: Windows warns before startup when an outdated Microsoft Visual C++ runtime is loaded.
Improved: Invalid launch options and early startup failures show a dialog with the relevant log and crash-report locations.
Improved: Windows crash dumps preserve the original exception location and retry with a smaller dump when a full dump cannot be written.
Fixed: Windows profiles, settings, caches, and custom media work when the user or folder name contains non-ASCII characters.
Fixed: Dedicated servers no longer crash when a script updates an objective that would normally display an on-screen hint.
Fixed: AI heal, rejoin, and remote-command processing no longer retain destroyed temporary subgroup data.
Fixed: Recoil settings inherited through temporary configuration classes no longer use expired configuration data.
