Hey everyone!

As we continue developing Eko and the Bewitched Lands, I wanted to share what I love about the games that have inspired us: Hades, The Binding of Isaac, and Tunic. These titles have profoundly influenced our design philosophy, and here's why:

Unpredictability: Every Run Feels Fresh

One of the most thrilling aspects of these games is their unpredictability. Each playthrough offers a unique experience, with the potential for an amazing run always on the horizon. This randomness keeps the gameplay exciting and encourages replayability.

Fluid Combat: Engaging and Responsive Battles

Combat in these games is anything but clunky. The controls are responsive, and the action is fluid, making every encounter compelling. When you take a hit, it feels like a personal mistake rather than a flaw in the game design, emphasizing skillful play.

Discovery of Secrets: Uncovering Hidden Treasures

The joy of stumbling upon new secrets—be it hidden rooms, artifacts, or lore—is a significant draw. These elements reward exploration and curiosity, adding depth to the game world.

Multiple Endings: Diverse Conclusions Based on Choices

Having different endings based on player choices adds layers to the narrative and encourages multiple playthroughs. It allows players to see the consequences of their decisions, making the experience more personal.

Customizable Difficulty: Tailoring the Challenge

The ability to adjust difficulty ensures that both newcomers and veterans can enjoy the game. Features like "No Fail" modes or adjustable challenges make the game accessible without compromising the core experience.

Conclusion

By embracing these elements, we're striving to create a game that offers unpredictability, fluid combat, rewarding exploration, meaningful choices, and adjustable challenges. We believe these features will make Eko and the Bewitched Lands a memorable and engaging experience.

We'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Your support is invaluable as we continue this journey.

Happy exploring!
