Hello, community!
It's been quite a journey since Puck was released on Steam. We've had a lot of issues, bugs and mishaps, but we've also reached a peak of 1337 (cool, I know) players and we're also at 80% positive review rate on this platform!
Thank you everyone for playing and participating, I really appreciate it.
I'm not being nearly as active as I should be here on Steam, but if you're interested, we have a very active and friendly Discord community where you can find out more about the game.
Here's some of the more notable changes in the last few updates:
- Introduced separate control button for sharp stopping: ALT
- Stick to barrier collisions will now counteract each other with more force
- Added goal crease markers to help goalies orient themselves
- Stick pivot point moved closer to player's body
- Puck now has less friction and more weight
- Bounciness is now equal across all parts of the board
- Base turn speed of both Skater and Goalie have been increased
- Friction of the Skater during sliding has been reduced
- Turn speed of both Skater and Goalie while sliding has been increased
- Increased stability of Skater and Goalie while sliding
- Stamina drain for 180s decreased to 1/8th of the stamina bar
- Stamina drain for jumping decreased to 1/8th of the stamina bar
- VOIP is now enabled as a toggle feature for community servers! (server owners please see README.txt for changes to launch arguments)
- Backend server migrated fully to a different host with much more performant hardware
- Completely replaced ICMP pinging with separate UDP sockets for servers
- Added /debug chat command which enabled developer tools on the main menu
- Refactored the whole player customization system which now allows you to:
- Set your player's visor for each team and role separately
- Set your player's stick blade tape and handle tape for each team and role separately
- Set your player's stick skin for each team and role separately
- Set your player's jersey for each team and role separately
