Devblog #4 - Finances and Sponsors

CS Manager · published

Hello everyone!

With the release of CS Manager getting closer, we are now diving into some of the final blogs before the launch. In today’s entry, we will take a closer look at finances & sponsorship, and how they play a crucial role in building a successful organization.

Building Your Finances

Finances are one of the most important elements when building long-term, sustainable success. You will need to carefully evaluate your financial structure and decide on your overall approach.

Will you take a conservative route, focusing on stability and gradual growth? Or will you invest aggressively to boost your team’s value?

Your finances are built around several elements: Salaries, facilities, tournaments and travel expenses, transfers, prize money, sponsorships, and your owners monthly contribution. Let’s take a closer look at some of these.

Salaries and transfers

For professional teams, player and staff salaries will likely represent your largest monthly expense. Signing new players to strengthen your squad may be tempting, but if you cannot sell the player they replace, you could end up paying double salaries, and potentially expensive termination fees. Poor transfer decisions can therefore put significant strain on your club’s finances.

Tournaments

Choosing which tournaments to attend is also an important financial decision. Online events generally involve minimal expenses, while LAN events are far more expensive. Travel, accommodation, and hospitality costs must all be covered by your organization. Despite the higher costs, LAN tournaments offer more ranking points, which your team may need to climb the ranks. Additionally, your team owner may increase your budget if you set ambitious goals and aim to perform well in high-profile tournaments.

Facilities

Investing in club facilities can significantly improve your organization’s long-term development. If your club maintains a positive financial balance, you may be able to upgrade key facilities such as the branding center or academy. Improvements of facilities can positively affect sponsor offers, youth intake, player development, team cohesion and overall morale of the squad.

Sponsorships

Your team has three sponsorship slots available, which will be displayed on your team jersey. Each sponsor offers different financial rewards and may require your team to perform well in specific tournaments. Because of this, accepting the first offer you receive may not always be the best decision. Carefully evaluate each sponsorship opportunity before signing a deal to ensure it aligns with your team’s ambitions and competitive schedule.
